Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?

It's actually surprising to me you guys feel this way, think how much time you have invested in MMOs working with other people, it's a necessity.
I mean if you managed to get through 30cap promyvions teamwork should be a walk in the park >_>
oh my gawd.
Don't bring that up :| I swear ...

While applying for a job at the county school board I realize it's a lot like a mission in Final Fantasy XI. First you have to obtain said item from location 1 and then you have to deliver it to location 2 and receive a new item and then wait 'til the next conquest update and return to location 1 with said item. Then wait til Japanese midnight for the next mission. Excellent. -.-

It is a pain in the *** don't get me wrong, also when it is going to affect your final grades then it's made personal. Working with other people is definitely something to get used to though, when you step into working environments it's almost a guarantee that at some point you will have to work with others and there is a high percentage many of them will be completely useless halfwits and there is nothing you can do about it. Oh trust me, you have no idea. The difference is in the real world you can shift them to the simpler, hard to *** up even for them tasks. In school you are required to give everyone an important role or they take marks off.
Also in the real world people get better or they get replaced, doesn't work that way in school.
You can only shift people around if you are the guy in the big chair. Most people get put into roles where they have no jurisdiction over who they have to work with and with the current state of employment you either do it or be replaced by one of the hundred other applicants.

Working in groups was the worst ever in college. There was always one person who was bossy and wanted to have the whole project done their way, there were always at least 1-2 people who didn't give a monkey's left nut about the project and you had to badger and harass them the entire time to get their part done, and there were always 1-2 people who were expected to do all the work.
My worst ever group project wasn't the group's fault though, it was the teacher's bad timing-- she assigned presentations on the last day before we left for Thanksgiving break-- due on the first day back from Thanksgiving break. Lol, no.
My group emailed each other one time during the break (we were on break! It's called break for a reason! Don't give loads of homework over breaks, and sure as heck not group homework over breaks!) Anyhow, we emailed each other once over the break, all agreed to wing it when we got back, met up the night before the presentation was due, gave the presentation the next day in class, walked away with a B- for the presentation. If we'd had a halfway reasonable time to get together and work on it, it would easily have been an A+.

I <3 my Queen sized bed w/ 6 pillows ^^ I always knew you were a bit of a feminine king. You're just jelly. Why would I be jelly of your inferior bed.
King or gtfo. I have a feather mattress on top of it. That's why you're jelly. King w/ 4" tempurpedic topper in a down topped slipcover or gtfo

rofl.
The only reason it's so much is cause it's a pro camera rather then just the simple SLR camera I have been using, more functionality (which I would love to have) but jeez >.>
Although I did see a decent camera at my local BJ's that was a little over 1.2k I MAY get.

I mean if you managed to get through 30cap promyvions teamwork should be a walk in the park >_> Promys were hard? >.> I built partys for them before I was even lv 40.
I have no problem with working in a group, just not in school. Part of working in a group is recongnizing that people excel in some aspects and lack in others. For example one person might be a great reasercher and writer but a terrible speaker, and another a great speaker but unable find their way to google with it set as the homepage. Real world you would assign them the tasks they excel at, those good at research would research, those good at speaking would speak and what not. In school it doesn't work out that way, everyone is required to do a bit of everything and often times everyones work is put together to be marked not individually.
A FFXI example would be like telling your whm heal and your pld tank as the real world side. The school side would be like telling your whm and pld splitting tanking and healing equally or suffer some sort of penalty.

That's true, at least in work people are actually picked for their attributes relating to the role. Well, apparently that's how it goes, I sometimes see things that makes me wonder how these people make any money but hey ho >.>

Its all about A)Finding out what that is for yourself and B)Getting someone else to recognize it that can set you up.
It's very common for a public job ad to be the last resort for an employer, they will normally look internally for recomendations first so often times Who you know > What you know

I don't know 100% for sure what this teachers policy is going to end up being, he is a brand new teacher and he seems very unsure of himself. Me and another guy are going to try and set up a meeting with him to discuss things (we are the 2 highest GPA holder in our degree program) and voice our concerns in an organized and not-in-the-middle-of-class setting.
I totally understand that working with people you don't want to work with happens in the "real world", hell I was in the Navy for 5 years so I know that firsthand. One of the main differences though is that in that environment, you get paid to work with people you don't get along with or have to pull their weight. In this environment however I am the one paying, and paying $1500 for a class and having to take a gamble with 70% of my grade is not something I want to do.
Like I said though, going to try and set something up and sort it out some, but worst case we will both drop the class and I dunno how it would look on a brand new teacher to lose 1/6th of his class in the first week as well as losing the 2 best students the department has.

School is funny like that though... you pay to go there but you still have to play by their rules... In order for them to give you a degree and pass you as someone who is acceptable by their standards you have to go by what they say... At my old school they could drop you from a class if you missed a certain amount... even if you were passing the class... You would think though that if you're paying for something and spending all that money people would take it more seriously...
Also, it's not that hard to pass a group assignment... just treat it like a solo assignement then give everyone a speech to read (if its a presentation)
As far as reflecting upon the teacher... it's not uncommon for them to assign group projects... if people drop the class in the first week it probably wouldn't reflect that poorly on him as you haven't even been around to have him as a teacher... its more, hey i don't like the idea of having to do this imma bail... which you're free to do if you so choose... If it's still the first week you can probably transfer too...

If I would actually get the Death Note, I'd go for that world. Otherwise I'd go for FMA or Gundam.

If I would actually get the Death Note, I'd go for that world. Otherwise I'd go for FMA or Gundam. But what if it's the anime-only continuity FMA and you're stuck in post-Conqueror of Shambala time? You're basically just stuck in 1920's Germany now, and you don't even get alchemy!
And which Gundam universe? If you end up in the Cosmic Era, you've got Jesus Yamato flying around shooting everyone down with his plot-armour-powered Gundam. The horror! D:

This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
