I call them all tank tops since I hate the term wife beater for a shirt.

However, I think these are "wife beaters". The plain white ribbed tank tops.

yeah white beaters are usually worn as undershirts and tank tops are just sleeveless shoulderless shirts.

We always called them wife-beaters. Actually, come to think of it, a lot of us gals yoinked some beaters from the boys section. Twas the fad from 2004 to 2006. Beater, flowy hippie skirt or jeans and you're good to go.

They've always been called wife beaters in my area...the schools even have them in the do not wear section of the dress code.

Speaking of dress codes, I understand why booty shorts are not allowed in school but spaghetti straps and tank tops aren't allowed either...and that bothers me...when the heat hits around here it hits HARD (not like southern hard or anything but we've gotten into the very low 100s in the beginning of June before) It just doesn't seem fair to not let the children wear the clothes that will keep them cooler especially since none of our schools have AC...I guess spaghetti straps make a certain amount of sense given just how MUCH skin is shown while wearing them but regular tank tops? really?

Just saw that the PA lawmakers are considering holding Barneby's responsible for Ryan Dunn's drunken driving death and all damages caused by it...something called the "dram shop law" pretty crazy...

not only am in favor of girls wearing tank tops and s'getti straps i am pro booty shorts. this is an outrage and we should start a parent committee to bring back dat booty.

There's no way I'd be able to wear the first pair without ending up breaking every bone in my body (heels and clumsy people are NOT a good mix)

Second pair would be cute with a mini-ish skirt and spaghetti strap tank top...in my opinion anyway
