Eh, that plan kind of fell through due to budget issues. But now that the loans are paid off and I'm getting my money back, and I have so much time ahead to plan and prepare, this one is a definite go.
I actually really look forward to FFXI music orchestrated, as many pieces are quite wonderful; and Distant Worlds only shined light on two songs.

Not to my knowledge. It's like a small suburb like place that is based around the University. It's just north of Oakland, and I really doubt it would have a more condensed crime rate than Oakland of all places lol.
I would gladly go but my financial situation... yeah. I'm jealous. :P

Well after looking at some lame neighborhood watch crime rate thingy, Berkeley doesn't look very safe. But most of the crimes appear to be based on property damage. Vandals if anything. And since I'm not bringing anything except myself and some clothes, I don't think I have much to worry about for a 1-2 day visit.

Misao is looking for new turf to take over.
So I just figured out why my PC was having so many issues.
It's a bad ram stick. :<
I left it out for installing XP and a bunch of stuff, just put it back in and not even five minutes from start-up, Firefox starts crashing.

RAM is dirt cheap. However, if your PC is old, it may be too dated to purchase anymore. Meaning you'll need a whole new motherboard to support newer ram, and thus have a new socket requiring a new CPU. Which is essentially buying a new PC lol.
Why downgrade to XP?
Yeah.
RAM, at least, can be cheaper than a new HDD like I thought I needed.
I hate the idea of running this PC with only 512mb of RAM though. Good thing I'm on XP now and not 7, that would be nigh un-runnable.
Hmm, newegg has some 2gb sets for under 30 bucks...

XP isn't really a downgrade, it runs far faster than Vista/7, at least on my PC.
This is getting old though, I need to start saving for a new one...

So, I made my son his dinner and he was sitting at his desk eating while I read something on here with my back to him. I suddenly realized he'd gotten unusually silent. When I turned around, this is what I found:
I tried to sit him up, and when I asked, "Can you wake up?" he just said, "No" without even opening his eyes and leaned back against the arm of the couch.
Even better than the time he fell asleep at the table while he was drawing.
