See, this is why I'm a proponent for consoles in the great console vs. pc war. At least with consoles, they're all in the same realm as far as processing is concerned. I can't hack, and honestly I don't care to. I just want to put the game in the box and play it. This is why I've been waiting for XIV to come out on PS3 and why I wish they'd make SWTOR a console game.
With PCs you can upgrade each piece as needed.
With macs and consoles, you just buy a whole new one when it doesn't do what you want it to anymore :D
Though I will say, proprietary hardware is as much a blessing as it is a burden.

At lvl 50 the whole pvp thing changes drastically, I'm a jugg 14/27 spec and I can take 4-5 guys on me for 15ish seconds, rarely break 90k damage but I protect a good 20k a match.
