The abduction of that Amber girl who the Amber Alerts are named after and Darley Routiere killed that in DFW. :( Man... I wish I could reminisce all night. But, my eyes are having a hard time staying open, so I'm gonna head off. Later, peepz.
I think the 90's as a kid myself can best be summed up by a couple of episodes of a 90's television show..
Pete and Pete.. The one where the time change goes into effect and that extra hour is somehow magical to a kid, and the one where younger Pete tries to beat the world record for no sleep and they're out late at night after many, many hours playing flashlight tag and he tries to fight sleep, but eventually just can't.. You know, I used to think my grandpa was 'stupid' because he told me basically "In my day, we didn't buy toys, we made them, and we loved doing it, they didn't have lights and sounds, they were just carved out of wood, you're missing out on a lot now" but now, I really do see it.. I feel my era really ended things for kids.. They'll really never know the wonder and joy that can be had outside with good friends after the sun has gone down.. You know even now I think back to my era, there was this small field us neighborhood brats used to play in, and it was actually owned by this old guy, he liked having us there, he'd let us in his house, give us snacks and water, and hearing this now you're probably wondering what creepy thing he did to us.. The answer is nothing, nothing at all.. No repressed memories, he didn't know any of us, but he had grandchildren and loved having them around, and loved having us around just as much.. And there was the neighbors across the street who basically took me in as their godson, even though they had never before even spoken to my grandparents.. Kids these days will just never get those kinds of memories.. It's pretty sad actually.. I totally just imagined some kind of bush that produced burritos...
Edit: Slip your post made me tear up pretty bad. :/ its a pretty normal thing that happens with time not really a big deal for me .-.
Kids these days dont have an imagination, I could play outside alone pretending I was this or that making my own "characters" and different voicing. I didnt even need anything it was all in my head, if someone saw me from across the street, they might think I had autism of some sort.
Kids these days you give them toys and it wont even last a week or day before they become bored with it. I had toys, but my best toys were the ones I came up with in my head. Do you guys remember that horrible song 'Cotton-Eye-Joe'? oh ive been watching bleach and didnt even know it lol background tv noise

I worry about this generation.. If they can recall it as fondly as I can recall mine, then okay, but it's really hard to imagine that when nearly all my fond childhood memories are based on interpersonal communication/activity and now people do so much just to avoid it. I LOVE [+]s!!! Especially right now!!! Thank you, Scraggy-doodle!!!
they will like their childhood since they wont know anything else. the kind of things people cherish will be different. maybe to them the day they got the iphone25 was their fav day who knows. the values are different so its not like isnt fair.

Fortune tellers are made very similarly to the paper balloons. Yomi, if it's any consolation I have a lot of Spice Girls ***downloaded to my iPod. Believe me there are some days that I blare it! LOL!
Spice up your life if you're havin' a good time! Shake it to the right if you know that you feel fine! I see ya, hold tight!!! Completely with the arms movements. zahrah said: » Yomi, if it's any consolation I have a lot of Spice Girls ***downloaded to my iPod. Believe me there are some days that I blare it! LOL! /high fives Zah! Edit! I'm not from Texas and I do that! All this nostalgia has me giddy. I feel that kitty on the marshmallow!
And if you looked in your rearview mirror, you'd probably see something similar to this
I just have this thing where I can't just drift to my doom, if someone has a need to let go of the steering wheel, I must grab it and at least steer.. But I must finish watching this so I can go to bed, I started it over an hour ago and I'm only 10 minutes in.. The random thread got a lot more interesting tonight.. I actually feel good tonight, it's nice to reminisce. I say in 25 years, we all get together for a giant BBQ and share our life stories as well as AH stories. We can have Mr. "Ph da ***" jump out of a cake with nipple pasties. I know everyone says this, but I really am a good driver. I might be singing and carrying on, but I pay attention. I don't swerve or drift anywhere! I'm just comfortable behind the wheel. Oh... I also use my turn signal. That's a huge pet peeve of mine. Always yelling at people around me to use theirs!
I agree, we should totally do that. Sounds like fun! XD Quetzalcoatl.Yomisha said: » All this nostalgia has me giddy. I feel that kitty on the marshmallow! Me too!!!
