cheesey as all get out.. I'm so bad with cover letters!
I was in the shower! D:
There's a trap behind that wall. ;)
Swag I got at Ren Fest...
![]() ...However I discovered my father bought this: ![]() I was so jelly that we traded. (even though mine was more expensive) Now to work some fitting attire for next time I go. :o So... I just made the greatest Chicken ala King of all time. The recipe called for green peppers, and I said, "Fuuuuuuuuuuuuu- that". So, instead I substituted green chiles. Paired with a sauce that was pretty much gravy and ladled on top of homemade biscuits... Damn good stuff. Whoever marries me is gonna have to fight me to see who gets to make dinner first.

It's good, but green chiles are much more robustly filled with flavor that can be enhanced with roasting, plus with a bit of a kick that lies somewhere between banana pepper and jalapeno. It's gooooood stuff. Also, yeah. I have a passion for food, and I do enjoy cooking. That would explain why I have a bit more of a waistline than I should. I'm a chef as well Mag (I do it for a living) and I live in New Mexico currently... home of the green chili lol. Its pretty good stuff indeed.

Its pretty good stuff indeed. I graduated highschool in Albuquerque. I frequently tell people that New Mexico has the best food. I however cannot cook..no interest in it at all I live in the state just to the West of you guys, so that's pretty much where we get our chiles from. Well, that and hatch. I dunno what it is about NM, but you guys seriously grow the best chiles on the planet. Well I'm not originally from here, but omg..during the roasting season.. They roast them even at walmarts..smells sooooooooooooooo good lol. And Daus I live literally 5m outside of ABQ ^^
Im in TN right now..I can tell because theres a UT game on and people outside are nuts.
We left NM in 2006, but I'd love to go back one day just to stop and eat something ~D: when we first moved there our neighbors brought over a big thing of dried red chiles and breakfast burritos and we were all like "uhh..thanks...wteff is this?" Id never seen dried chiles or breakfast burritos..now the breakfast burritos are everywhere and Im still not sure what the purpose of hanging chiles on your door is. PS I lived in AZ too..prettier than albuquerque but the foods not as good "I didnt want green peppers so I added green peppers" is what I'm saying.
They both go by the same generic name. Oh snap! I grew up in New Mexico. In Elephant Butte, it's right next to Truth or Consequences. And pretty close to those two is Hatch Valley, who I believe is ranked among the leaders in the nation's chili growing. Yummy stuff!
And if you guys ever visit T or C, you must stop at La Cocina and have their ultimate enchilada. It's pure magic. Boo, just saw that Andy Rooney died :/
Bit slow I guess but I don't read/watch the news that often >.> I didnt know it was possible to have so many experienced New Mexico-ers on a forum.
Im pretty sure the majority of the country believes Albuquerque is a place created by Bugs Bunny. Well, the term "pepper" is a misnomer, anyway. It originated when ignorant ol' Christopher Columbus came overseas and upon tasting this new (to him) fruit was confused due to its spicy nature (brought upon by its capsaicin) before assuming it was some different form of Indian pepper which in fact isn't a chile at all but rather a small fragrant spice, ie: peppercorn. So in this case, both should be considered chiles as they both come from the same family. And yes, I agree. It is a bit redundant, which is why it's easier to discern that one is "pepper" while the other is "chile" even though they're both chiles. Furthermore, the green pepper is also considered a bell pepper, so if it helps to discern, then by all means.
Edit: Thank you, Alton Brown! Bismarck.Magnuss said: » Alton Brown! boom.. cant *** wait >< only good show on food network is chopped but then again I hate the judges.
I watch the big cake Challenges but I cant figure out why. I must find pleasure in damaging my brain. Nobody on that show seems to be able to grasp the fact that its only an 8hour battle and everybody plans a cake that would normally take days to finish..thus everybody creates fugly cakes because they always misjudge time..It hurts my soul! (only exception is the spectacular poodle cake and BigBird cake) Starts with a B?
