Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?

XP One of you should be Bunnicula! Because it was the best book ever when I was a little squirt.
I remember reading that book in second grade. 0.0
That looks like a horrid mix between a duck a vampire and a frankenstein. :/
Oh dear! O.O halp!
I've been searching for a job since freaking May. It's been irritating, to say the least. Last night my husband and I were talking about a work-from-home option specifically for writers that's similar to the technical writing project work I've been doing all summer, and we decided it was the best option if I could get into it because: 1.) With a real job we will have to cancel our plans to see his family for a week at Thanksgiving and our best friends who we see maybe once or twice a year at New Year's. 2.) With a real job we'd have to kennel the dogs up for hours every day because we don't yet have a fenced yard to put them in while we're gone and can't trust them alone in the house. (pic related...) 3.) We'll be moving again in the summer, and we don't know where to. So any real job I'd get would be temporary at best. I already kinda look like a job-hopper on my resume. 4.) We want kids someday (Ok, so I want kids someday and he's trying hard not to look terrified every time I mention it) and with a real job they'd need an expensive daycare or babysitter. If I got into this home-writing thing, my darling pooches could be free, I could be home with children, I could take it anywhere so traveling plans would never be a problem, and I could still make a very decent living. I applied for the at-home job this morning. This afternoon I got a call about a job (FINALLY!) at a bagel shop on campus. I agreed to the interview, but then what if they want me and then the other thing works out? Damn damn damn! I have no idea what to cook for dinner =/
Quesadillas~

Considering everything you want in the near future, and the fact that the technical writing job you will be able to do remotely, why not just do both if you can manage it? Lining your pockets right now is probably a good idea. I know home prices are still falling in this area. Since you are planning on moving again next summer, why not save up enough to put you in the position to buy a home? The interest rates on mortgages are crazy low right now!!! I refinanced in August at 4.5%. If you're looking toward the future, why not? Odin.Liela said: » :-( But that's just the problem. At this point you'd be 'settling' for anyone else while your heart stayed with her. That would be unfair to you, her, and all your future girlfriends. If you really think you can't be together, then give yourself all the time you need to heal before choosing anyone else. Don't feel bad about taking time for that. /comfort I'm not really in high demand. Time is something I've got a ton of. And for the first time ever, I think I'm fully okay with this. I say get the bagel job, and if the work from home thing works out, quit and do that.

Try and launch your career in writing. Blog, write editorials, submit to magazines, newspapers, academia, whatever your thing is. Do it. And don't quit. You can always get better jobs, more income, but delaying your dream is a terrible thing. Even if you have to do your dream to a lesser degree, or change that dream a little, don't you dare let go of it.
