If you have people talking behind your back, it's because your personality is projected enough for people to find faults with it (unless they're talking about you being incredibly quiet/shy).

I wouldn't worry about it. As the (probably not quite commonly accepted) saying goes, "haters gonna hate". Nothing you can do about that.

If you try to moderate your personality/acts too much to please everyone such that you hope more people won't find things in you to dislike, you run the risk of diluting yourself.

I don't think it's worth it. You will always have people disliking you or something that you do - that's just how things are.
