actually that article title reads like "no one bought my game... they must not be buying any games" seems like someone made a jump in logic.

TLDR: Expedition 33 got a shitload of nominations

After 20 chapters of Dandadan, Im enjoying it a little less than I thought at first.

While I like the characters, their chemistry, their development, the battle shonen part of the story is just whatever to me.

Game of the Year

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Donkey Kong Bananza
Hades II
Hollow Knight: Silksong
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II

I expect 33 to win with Donkey Kong being the runner up. I'm happy for Kingdom Come: Deliverance. The first game was excellent. I am a bit surprised to see Hades II, I would have taken Ghost of Yotei.

Also I don't see any Chinese games at all, so much for that "takeover." Relegated to the "people's choice" awards.

How is Hades II on this list, but Ghost of Yotei not? Is there an October 1st cut-off deadline or something?

Also, I never even finished Death Stranding 1. If there ever was a way to play a game incorrectly, I completely messed that game up. Played it for 20 hours, exploring and building shift before I got to the first boss. I was like: "Okkk, now we're talking! This is the Kojima mumbo-jumbo story I was waiting for!" ....but alas, I was too exhausted from the monotony to go back after that. :(

I don't think so because Yotei is nominated for other categories and as Kaffy said, 2XKO is only out in early access. So it hasn't even had a full release yet. It was just a bad year for fighting games, but that's the nature of the genre. Next year will have Marvel Tokon which looks absolutely amazing.

I dont know, but I think I wasnt mentally mature before my 30s.

Just beware that past 30s, time seems to accelerate, so it good to start to make proper planning for the upcoming years: plans to earn and save money, plans for life, plans for motivation, etc.

I could say if you pass the 30 to 40 interval without goals, without money, without expectations, then this gonna become worrisome

my coworker fell of a rock wall on his 30th birthday broke his arm (well "fell" is a bit generous he jumped and fail to catch the grip he was going for).
so for him it was literally a cliff he fell off of :D, and we remind him about it constantly.

I started to become more engaged with my works project.

It is not a big deal, just a traditional backend with some business logic.

It is not even a technologies Im looking forward to work in the future: just python with Fastapi.

But it is a major opportunity because I basically lead a small outsourced team, the original developer doesnt want to get involved with programming tasks and we are planning to basically rewrite the entire application.

I suppose very few developers have a chance to basically write an entire company program, making most decisions, without being the owner, and still bring paid for it.

It is a golden chance to finally mature my skills with a "real world" project with the most autonomy and a previous version I can use as a reference.

This morning I spend just learning about Fastapi.

Lets see how it will turn out

But python is something I know a little but not something I plan to entirely master it

Im more interested in learning something to build a indie game and hopefully generate some passive income.

At first, I was looking into RPG Maker engine, given it is supposelly "easy" to start and using javascript, what I know one thing or another.

But RPG Maker has that aura that you need to use plugins otherwise none will bother with a game with buildin assets.

And there isnt a whole lot of options to learn about plugins.

So I decide to take a look on other engines, that maybe not that easy to start, but well documented and with more out of the box resources that I can just learn normally, instead of having to kearn how to "break" the engine.

I bought a book teaching Godot.

I just want something I can develop on my own in a reasonable time frame
