A Master Level 7 DRK joined me. Name was Jimboslice.
Then a ML BRD who was confused and thought it was ROV, but once he realized his mistake became a ML SCH.
Then a ML35 or so RUN with Epeo joined too.
We really rocked its ***. I was the trust nucleus and repopped Qultada/Joachim several times for Chaos Roll reapplication. Landed the kill hits in both fights too! I was on BLU providing Mighty Guard. A man among giants, I tells ya

Storywise, maybe the weakest story of all expansions. It really didnt justify the 3 or 4 years it took to be completed.
Not only weak story, but also i couldnt relate to it because, for the first time in game, they didnt asd a waifu character in story.
Maybe its the signsnof the new time and they wanted to be more democratic, but damn... stories are about people. People can relate to people. If there isnt a person there, obviously the player wont easily connect to the story.
Considering that our char is like the silent hero, the story normally depend more on the story main character than the player to develop.
If that main character is a goblin, oh well...

3+ years to release = 3+ years of subscriptions per character

I doubt many people were holding onto their subs solely to wait for TVR to be finished. I'm glad we got some of the items we did out of it, the neckpieces, rings, and food in particular, but the story content was bleh.

Honestly. I don't like it. I tend to do a mission or two a night but I walk away from the game while the cutscene goes because it's mega *** boring. I just want the ring. Primes don't excite me. I would make them all if they were 2 months to make 1. 6 months too long. would fire the *** who thought that was a good idea.

I think its more likely they had a trainee writimg the missions while doing regular maintenance, ambuscsde and still playing FF14
It was all just Matsui-P even after he retired from being -P. He personally wrote it all and worked on it for an hour each night before bed.

I believe one of major flaws of TVR and RoV is that both had that obligation of joining all expansion in a cohesive story.
But I dont think most of the expansion stories were designed to be related to each other.
I mean, there is very little in common between Aht Urghan with Adoulin and Promathia.
They were all great because they didnt need to force a synergy that doesnt exist.
While TVR and RoV always had to reserve a few chapters to each nation, each beastman and so on.
In the end, I never felt like natural those intersection, and feel the story could be greater if they could just focus on story despite tributes.

Current game I picked on was Terranigma.
That name appeared well ranked on those random tier list
Spend 30 minutes, and so far, feels like old Secret of Mana games. Story is still kinda basic and generic.

I greatly dislike TVR and think it was a waste of resources, but there is a lot of development effort required to do that sort of thing. It's really not that trivial. Judging by how multiple times they came down to the wire and had to delay things because they were broken, even simple quests, it was probably a matter of resources.
No doubt they tapered it out like they always do content like that, but it's not really a surprise it took years given what was required for the content (writing, animations, quests, BCNMs, adding items, testing, etc).
What is remarkable to me is that they had those resources and that's the direction they went with it.

Kinda common ocurrence with one of the few persons willing to solve problems with innovative solutions.
Our infrastructure is basically wrong. Created over a wrong premise. Sustained only through managers agreements, not technical one. Weak infrastructure that never failed to give us more work than 99.9% of other companies.
I propose a solution to change those premises and start anew. Then my idea is shoot down because I should invest in another failed manager agreement, so we can perpetuate our suffering.
Im ok. I always says to my colleagues we are constantly fighting against other. We gonna be critized if we comply with status quo, if we try to change the status quo, if we dont do nothing, if we do everything we can.
Im fine, I stopped caring with being on the "wrong" side of the discussion.
One more year and Im out. If the problem was me, I bet everyone will be glad that Im leaving, and possibly the many years problem will be solved by itself.
