Watching classes with indians speaking english made me pronuntiate "method" as "metho-r-d".

Every time I see this word, reminds me the indian guy adding a "R" in the word.

Hot damn. 16 years later and we get a new one.

The Budokai Tenkaichi series were some of my favourite games back then, so it's hard not to get hype for this. @_@
But on the other hand, this is modern Bandai Namco, so I'm 99% sure this is just going to be a DLC-ridden mess wearing the skin of a great series rather than a worthy sequel. ._.;

The show, the podcast is on youtube.

(pieces of the show are on youtube too)

But every site I peruse puts up any tv show that I watch within hours except this one

((No one can upload it to pirate sites cause literally no one has appletv lul))

Also, it's on eztv of course, but downloading is so pedestrian

I feel like this was just pandering to people with nostalgia goggles. Like really, what does tenkaichi have over Xenoverse? Almost nothing... like I played all those games and they were fun as a kid but Xenoverse is just way better all around. So many people hated on Xenoverse because it wasn't Tenkaichi but they were looking thru nostalgia goggles. Oh well, I'll play it anyways but I want a Xenoverse 3.

Xenoverse 3 would only need very minor changes to bring it on par with Tenkaichi 3 in the few areas it's lacking anyway. Mainly faster pacing (I love XV but some animations feel like they drag on forever, especially some grabs/falls, and even the high-speed flying is too slow for the size of the areas), and defensive options that don't use resources (BT3 at least had Sonic Sway, which allowed you to evade basic attacks if timed right, but didn't work on charge attacks or supers).
Also stop making transformations entirely seperate characters. SS4/SSB should be transformations for Goku/Vegeta (GT)/(Super), not different characters entirely.

Other than those, XV3 really just needs more locations and more custom character options. More hairstyles (that actually change with different transformations this time)! More clothes (and battle damage on low health)! More accessories! Maybe make it so movesets change when transforming too, to allow for more variety in playstyles! :D

One of my goals with the RPG engine I'm writing is to figure out all of the logistics of stuff so people who make their games with it don't have to do all of that work. Yet I also want people to be able to run basically any game with it, including stuff like Star Wars.

But Star Wars and logistics are like oil and water. It's got really cool concepts and a lot of neat worldbuilding, but even after 45 years and with how hardcore its fanbase is, Star Wars lore doesn't seem to have much consensus on stuff. At least, nothing I can find.

Lightsabers are a good example. I think I've figure out how to make them work in the context of my rulebook, but there's nothing to compare/contrast with. The most detailed explanation I can find is on Wookieepedia, which reads "Lightsabers consisted of a plasma blade, powered by a kyber crystal, that was emitted from a usually metal hilt and could be shut off at will."

Digging deeper, all I could find were people arguing about things that would have been solved with even a barebones explanation. Pages-long arguments about the simplest stuff like "Do they work underwater?"

Disney missed a huge opportunity with their big reset on the expanded universe to actually explain stuff like how warp drives and lightsabers and The Force itself works. But they didn't. And without a basis for how these things work, you're bound to get stuff like the Last Jedi where they weaponize the warp drive.

With that said, I'm open to being corrected lol

The only thing you need to know about laser swords is "space magic"

There can be no sense made of it. It's existence is literally impossible.

The spoiler is more or less the only way it could work (but because it's magic, not because physics)

No, I get that. But there has to be some sense to it if you're going to have an expanded universe. Without logic, you can't tie anything together. It leads to questions that have no answer and arguments that can't be resolved.

Why doesn't someone just turn up their lightsaber so it shoots a continuous beam of light? And if for some reason (but what is that reason?) you can't do that, why not just shoot lightsabers, hilt and all, out of guns?

What happens if you turn on a lightsaber blade when it's pointed towards another already-on lightsaber blade? Will they impose kinetic force? How much?

Why don't people just put warp drives on missiles and use those in combat? The inertia generated from even a small object going FTL could probably take out an entire fleet of enemy starships.

Why don't people quickly turn their lightsabers off and on again to bypass an enemy's parry?

Do lightsabers work underwater?

Fans get super upset at stuff like in The Last Jedi when whatsherface went to warp speed and rammed into the enemy fleet. But because warp drives are never given any logic, there's no reason that wouldn't work. And then it makes all of the other movies seem really stupid because "Did seriously no one think to do this sooner?!"

That's where I can suspend my disbelief. Someone comes up with a fictional resource or technology that does not or cannot exist. That's fine, I don't need an explanation for that. But if you're showing me something in action, it needs to be consistent. And it can't be consistent without even the most barebones rules.

EDIT: To me, it really depends how far something is taken. I wouldn't even think about it if we were only talking about A New Hope. But when there's this many movies and other media at this point, people start to take liberties and ask these questions. With no authority on what's right or wrong, people can do whatever they want with these stories. That's when people accept or omit things in their own headcanon, because they interpret the nonexistent rules differently than someone else.

I know the answer to some of those!

The beam does have mass and requires energy, it can be shortened and extended but the power source has limits. And it would become impossible to wield. Light whips exist, they are longer also shotosabers.

If you put two hilts in front of each other and powered on, they would push apart, they still have mass. The amounts though no idea.

Missles with warp drives, scale mostly. Expense, maybe.

The "why don't I turn off and on my saber to avoid your parry" is a "forbidden style" and does exist. But it would be extremely dangerous. Your sword is also your defense. You turn it off, their block is now an attack and you're defenseless (yes even for a fraction of a second, that's all it takes) It's called Trakata.

https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Tr%C3%A0kata

The specific attack is called "pass the blade" for... obvious reasons.

They function underwater, but the water would boil and kill you, and be crazy hard to see.
(it would also burn the air and incinerate your lungs, burst your eyeballs etc merely holding one normally.... so...)

The moon looked nice earlier and I took a pic and then zoomed in all the way and this came up. Isn't this fake? It was really weird seeing it go from a blob to this lol.

Hulu added Waiting today. Yay for a funny movie to watch.
Waiting is the one reason I am the most amiable person whenever I get food at a restaurant or fast food!

*orders chicken sandwich*
*gets whopper extra mayo*
"Ahhh a whopper! Thanks for adding extra mayo!"

Also, Waiting 2 is pretty gd funny too

I just reinstalled FFXI for my new PC and it was really easy. I honestly don't know why ppl complained about that. Altho when I opened a new browser and typed FFXI in and hit enter, it literally auto corrected to "FFXIV" without any browser history or data. Thats always funny

Installing is painless, registering is what's irritating

Make a new account on the square store (if you try as a guest they make you verify your ID four *** times!)
make a square account on the mogstation
make the pol account
make the XI account
Also maybe make a new email if you don't want them to have your email, optional of course
Oh and you have to do your bank information (paypal etc) twice. Square store and Mogstation both need it.
Every step has a confirmation email with a confirmation code

It's excessive

Yeah, it's the registration and trying to figure out PlayOnline's login stuff that's the real pain. Even sort of knowing what I was doing, it had been so long that it took me a good while to figure out how to set it all up on my new laptop.

Member Name, PlayOnline ID, Set Password(Y/N), PlayOnline Password, Member Password, Confirm Password, Square-Enix ID, and One-Time Password(Y/N). Three different account names, two different passwords. And because nothing can be hovered-over for help or anything, someone could spend an hour looking for where their "Member Name" is.

And one of them - I don't remember which it is - also prevents you from even asking Square-Enix for help. Even if you want to reset a password, you have to log in first. But if that login is the password you're missing, you can't even log in to ask for a new password.

It's not that it's a huge nightmare or something, but it's definitely a lot more steps and with a lot more room for mistakes than trying to register almost any other game. And that's enough to turn people off, especially if they were just curious about it.

I'd describe PlayOnline's registration as trying to push two weak magnets with the same poles together. It's not impossible, but you feel that resistance, and sometimes it'll even slip out of your control.
