Random Thoughts.....What Are You Thinking?

I can fully understand that the literal smartest man in the multiverse to be over confident and expect to not have to put MUCH effort into containing/killing the scarlet witch. But I cannot suspend logic so far that I can accept how it goes down.

Yeah, I expect the threat to work, and I expect her to be unable to stop the attack, but I have literally zero plan B, or devices or antichaos power absorbing mutant to teleport in just in case? Smartest *** man in existence (top 10 or whatever). Completely HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE.

I know she would destroy them all, I just can't imagine any scenario that plays out like that. Mr Fantastic has no powers that can compete with magic, I get that, but he has enough braincells to know that.

It's just like my annoyance with the time stone. The ultimate maguffin literally cannot be countered, and can't be done properly.

They are multiverse geniuses with hundreds of years of experience between them, and still when they see her decimate their impenetrable base in seconds, they still think let’s just go talk to her and reason

My kids response was something akin to “she might be the only Scarlett witch in the multiverse that got to that lvl out of hundreds they saw”

So if Xavier saw 100 Scarlett witches he easily overcame with that trick, of course he would be confident etc

I kept calling him Xavier to be spoiler-vague.

First, this was the greatest Fantastic Four movie of all time. I despise this group of idiots, they don't deserve any movies, and I'm glad their comic was cancelled. Reed Richards isn't the smartest man on his own planet, much less the universe. He isn't even the smartest character in his own comic. I thoroughly enjoyed watching him get spontaneously combusted. Good riddance. And the rest of the Illuminati? I mean, what is this, the best of the rest? The only people that survived Thanos? Professor X doesn't go out like that, but oh well. The rest of them are worthless. Scarlett Witch is hardly the only person that can go right through them.

Second, I enjoyed Scarlett Witch's heel turn, but where was White Vision in this whole thing? Why was she so focused on her brats, and not Vision? I mean, we suffered through Wandavision to be introduced to this character, now he no shows in what will likely be her last appearance for a long time (ever?) That doesn't make a lot of sense.

Lastly, I don't understand where Phase 4 is taking us. We have had Eternals, which has essentially been written out of the canon, Spiderman, great movie, and now this. Next is Thor, and it won't have a big impact on whatever is going on with the MCU. I am looking forward to it though. After that is Black Panther 2, probably won't involve the multiverse. Same with Guardians 3, although I admit, I have no idea what is going to happen in that movie.

Dr. Strange 2 was advertised as having a big impact on the story going forward...but it doesn't seem like it did. I think the MCU is going to ignore this movie, much the same way that it ignored the Eternals.
6/10. Good horror movie, not a great MCU movie.
