In other news, so I don't double-post, I just got a voice mail from "the Chinese embassy". Speaking at first in what I guess was a Chinese dialect and then in English telling me that I had documents that need turned in. I guess I better... get on that. I don't want China mad at me. (I'm kind of mad that I clicked delete on it as it's likely the strangest voice mail I'll ever get).

I hope some mod approve another batch of images ASAP because it will be terrible if everytime we open FFXIAH site we end seeing that creepy dude face smiling on you for a month....

THREE MORE HOURS

I wasn't annoyed or inconvenienced into using an adblocker, I started using one because some kind of World of Tanks ad would run on YouTube videos as a banner along the bottom and it pushed the video out of view. I kept hiding it and telling it that I didn't want to see that ad anymore, but it kept playing. After being unable to watch videos for a couple of days I caved in and installed ABP.

If it were annoyance alone, I probably would have installed a blocker when that stupid, awful Chili's ad played every time I went to any website ever. I didn't even know what it was an ad for because it had nothing to do with the restaurant and we don't have any of them in Winnipeg so the solitary picture of a chili at the end didn't help.

EDIT: It wasn't until around 3 years later I took a road trip with friends and I saw a Chili's for the first time. The logo alone (which as I said above is the only thing I could glean from the ad) resurfaced so much raw hatred that I literally screamed when I saw it.

A lot of people are freaked out by targeted ads. But at least it means I don't have to listen to a shitty ad for a restaurant I don't even have access to, nor am I shown ads for porno games I'll never play. I just wish the targeted ads would show me stuff I need, rather than stuff I've already bought.

Like, chill out, FBI Guy. One toaster oven is enough. That's not something I plan on buying in bulk.

I'd argue the Nostalgia Critic did a good job evolving with the times. His angry, high-pitched rants were the style back in the day, but he's (mostly) shifted away from that now. If nothing else, he puts more effort into his content than the endless stream of Let's Players out there lol

His most recent upload actually got me a little giddy because his weekly charity shout-out was an organization looking for a cure for the rare-as-heck disability I suffer from.

It's only Canadian Geese that're evil. They steal all the impoliteness from the humans. A perfect yin and yang.

I remember once I had to stay at my parents house for a week or so while they were out of town. I was there to watch their dog. I remember getting on their computer, going to youtube, and seeing an ad. I had forgotten that they even existed. I rectified the situation right away.
