That was part of it, but I was able to drill even deeper than that and realized that it all just stems from a lack of respect altogether. It's a trait they all share, with some worse than others. The way in which people like that "refuse to grow up" is that everything is an inconvenience to them. Like children, they require an authority figure to dictate what's right and wrong. And then they throw a tantrum when their mom takes away the PS5 she bought them because they still haven't taken their dirty dishes upstairs.

This is going to sound weird, but I see everything in life as a series of bars like HP and MP. One such gauge everyone has is a level of respect from me. It starts out actually pretty high, and often doesn't dip below that point no matter how awful of a person they are, because I can empathize that "everyone is going through something". Only very recently have I allowed those gauges to start slowly dropping below that minimum threshold, because I've finally realized that respect is a two-way street.

There comes a point where hanging out with people is worse than not hanging out with people. To not show respect once or twice is fine, because everyone's got trauma. But part of being a grown-up is respecting other people's trauma and to better yourself and others around you.

A friend is someone whose boundaries you've learned. It's someone with whom you can have a good time without having to tread lightly. I feel like I always have to walk on eggshells around the Thumpers. I can't talk about achievements like my career because none of them have careers. I can't talk about my interests because their interests are 'better'. I can't talk about FFXI or XIV because it always turns into bullying. I can't even talk about the news or politics because one of them is an extremist who gets triggered into an angry, hours-long rant at the slightest provocation. No one can really talk about anything.

Canada doesn't actually exist. We're like Finland and Australia. Anyone who says they're Canadian is just part of the conspiracy.

Money doesnt bring happiness

Is there any difference between buying a switch game physical and digital that justify one costing twice the other?

Maybe i guess the physical can be shared/resold while the digital one is exclusive to an account?

I've always bought or been gifted digital :) I've got a physical copy of smash bros but don't notice any difference.

Really been enjoying cobra kai a lot since i started it. With all the nods and easter eggs from the the 2nd and third movie, that i never saw, I thought of watching them. Looking at Google they have the worst reviews ever. I thought I'd hate them but they really aren't as bad as i would have imagined. The third one was like a copy paste almost of the first.

I never got to see any of them myself, they're on my watch list along with the show now :) and yeah it's sometimes funny how the reviews don't match our thoughts on movies/shows. I looped biohazard racoon city, the Leon actor and Chris (dude from upload, an amazing show) were awesome. Idk what's up with Claire tho, but the rest of it was cool. I guess since I'm a huge biohazard fan (I looove REresistance) it was just nice to see. Wanted to see Spencer tho, he's so goofy in resistance lol.

lol it was around this time last year that I had asked my now ex-boss permission to work from home, knowing a blizzard was coming and would have made it super dangerous to take the open highway to the middle-of-nowhere office. He said no, never giving a reason.

We just got slammed with another blizzard overnight. I looked outside and saw drifts 3 feet high. But now I'm working for a company that does let me work from home. I can do my job without arbitrarily risking my life driving to an uninsulated box in the middle of nowhere.

I know we're long past Thanksgiving, but boy am I thankful right now lol

Jeez. I don't think we were expected to get that much ground snow, but the 90km/h winds made it compact and gave it shape.

I need to talk to my neighbours, because there's a spot on their roof I can see with a 4-to-5-foot drift on it, and Winnipeg roofs are only designed for like ~2 feet lol

lol that's funny, but real snow doesn't show much of a silhouette or internal contrast because of how reflective it is, especially when it's fresh.
