Somebody told me this line:
"For all the 1 star things Tim Curry was in, he's the reason for that star." Guy had some legs back in the day too. Endwalker is up 180% more preorders compared to Shadowbringers and there's still months to go for that to increase. Jesus

Makes him a fantastic candidate for mocking everything serious. Offline

YouTube Video Placeholder damn it looks like a new released game with XBOX X sakaguchi is brilliant I can't believe it finally happened; mainline Super Robot Wars getting a proper western release!
YouTube Video Placeholder https://store.steampowered.com/app/898750/Super_Robot_Wars_30/ I thought Loki ended well, it was a very Loki like ending. He isn't Thor, he is a talker, and so there was a lot more dialogue than action. It sets up the Multiverse well, with Spiderman coming this December and then Dr. Strange next year. And they confirmed a season 2, so that's exciting.
If they don't put garfield and mcguire in a spiderverse type thing, even just a nod, or a cameo as "non spider people" that's a huge missed shot.

Draylo's figure reminded me, I've been meaning to invest in a resin printer to make custom figures and potentially even sell some. I really should get on that eventuwlly.

As usual your lack of research betrays you. Shadowbringers had one of these too. The reason there's more preorders is because there's more players to preorder. It's surprisingly simple. I've dabbled in things like 3dmax as far back as middle school, barrier to entry isn't very high. Mastering it is obviously a lot harder but for printing and casting you want as little polygons and fine details as possible to create easier to print structures so that isn't much of a problem. Main skill you need to develop which does not transfer from any sort of traditional 3d modeling experience is learning how to make a physical, printed object that is solid and uses as little material as possible, meaning you need to be able to make internal structures in a smart way to increase structural stability.
Can also import and modify models from games which makes it easier. Hopefully Endwalker is better than Shadowbringers, which I couldn't even finish.

Definitely in a tiny minority there. Shadowbringers was amazing with some of the best writing the game has ever had. Not really sure how they'll get Endwalker to live up to it really but hopefully they have some twists up their sleeves. Tedious and not really profitable. Problem is a lot of our textures are really just paint not actual textures. I didnt like it myself, it had decent moments but the story was kinda predictable with more fake "sacrifices" from the usual characters. I enjoyed stormblood more
The figure was made of polymer clay, wood and painted with acrylic paint. Its probably more effort than normal prints. Most of those range around 100 so probably not the most profitable unless in huge bulk. I do know a seller doing custom ps1 polygon ones and he tries to charge like 200 each lol but I don't think he gets a ton of sales.
My personal alignment is more or less opposite. Found a majority of Stormblood to be pretty banal and I really think Lyse got way too much screen time. Two parallel stories that were ultimately the same ended up burning me out by the end.
I think what made Shadowbringers better for me was the scope of it. So many microstories woven into the main giant thread of the origins of the entire world and the origins of the Ascians, how they've dictated history's course for thousands of years and how the things we've seen and done all tie up in it, ultimately bringing the entire 10 years of story together into one final nexus. It was so compelling to me (and Amaurot is prolly one of my favorite RPG reveals and locations of all time). |
