Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?
My hairline is definitely receding, and I believe that I am going to go bald sometime in my 30s.

Tell us more of your FFII excursion. Inquiring minds, or lack thereof, want to know! Have you made it through Deist's Cave yet? Are you to the Mysidian Tower? Is Purple hair your thing? Well, since you asked..... RANT MODE ACTIVATE! So, I pretty much blazed through the game, got 100% on the bestiary and items, and called it a day. Part of me really wanted to get level 16 on the spells and weapons and have a maxed out party (which is something I like to do in Final Fantasy games so that I get the full experience), but the leveling process just got far, far too tedious. For example, I was tracking the axe skill on Gus because all he ever did was melee with the same weapon type the entire game. He hit 11-33 and just stopped progressing, even through most of the endgame. I can't imagine how long it would have taken to max it out to 16 if it stopped moving at 11 against the toughest enemies the game had to offer. I'm sure there are tricks that people have developed to make it happen more quickly, but it just wasn't worth the effort to me. I played the FF Origins version, and my guess is that some of the later versions of the game iron out some of the major annoyances (such as inventory limitations), so I might be willing to give one of those a shot in the future. Barring some flaws that can be expected from a company trying to reinvent the wheel after a previous success, it was decent for a late-80s RPG even if it offended my completionist sensibilities. That being said, I've already started on FFIII for the PSP. I'm not digging the 3D interpretation of a 2D game, but the quality of life additions are a breath of fresh air. So, iirc, the weapon skills go up proportionally to the rank of the enemies that you fight, and then secondly how many of the same weapon type you have equipped. Dual wielding basically grants an extra point of skill up per swing. Anyway, the rank system is never talked about explicitly like much of the other mechanics in the game. Monster Ranks are independent of monster stats, and they go from Rank 1 to Rank 8, iirc. Once you get really up there, to Skill level 9, it takes two swings against a Rank 8 to get 1 skill point. I think. So basically, once you're at Skill 15, it takes something like 7 swings to get 1 skill point. Bear in mind, it has to all be in one battle, as far as I know, and the battles don't last that long unless you force them to last. To skill up, you basically have to equip cardboard weapons and engage an easy Rank 8 enemy... of which there are very few. Probably disable it with enfeebling spells, and then spend a long as time in the fight. I've never bothered, once I learned the specifics. so, a tough tendon in a cut of beef and freshly sharpened knife made me visit the ER. had it wrapped up and after an hour and a half it didn't stop. thankfully they did glue and not stitches. a fun way to spend 2am. thankfully it only took about an hour. the dr wanted to do some tub gauze thing on my phone, but the nurses were having a hard time and they were like "what do you think, we can just get some gauze and use bandaids to tape it.", and they seemed annoyed when i replied, "it worries me when medical professionals ask me my opinion on medical procedures.".

If there is a upside, things like this teach you to be a whole lot more careful with knives and to be more careful in general. Probably saving yourself a far worse injury in the future. I've done some really stupid things and had some really close calls, you learn from them though. i mean i do more intensive food prep than i did last night 4-5 days a week. this was just a one off. i blame the grocery store for having sirloin on sale instead of ribeye. a ribeye would of never done this to me.
just got into 3rdstrike with fightcade instead of trying to fight games in the collection mode, god damn its so much *** fun, been beating guys left and right with akuma's randomness, its amaszing no diminishing returns when u demon raging even when u miss u can input directly anything afterwards

I always find it odd when people give money to streamers, especially big streamers. Many of these people are millionaires or at least far more wealthy than the audience, and their $10 is like a pittance on their money mountain. It would be like sending a $10 tip to Elon Musk and expecting a thank you.
Ultimately, I think people do it for purely selfish reasons. They either want to virtue signal to the large group of people watching how good of a person they are, they want attention from the streamer or more often they actually just want attention from the audience. Very much like a child in school does something stupid to get everyone looking at them and getting attention. If I really liked a small streamer (cause I wouldn't give money to some rich person) and wanted to send them some money, I would do it via paypal with no link to my twitch account name. Anything else and you're doing it for selfish reasons, even if you try fool yourself you aren't. The streamer also knows this. You even see sometimes someone giving £100 to a streamer, the streamer and chat not really noticing because they were at some exciting part of the game or something. Then that same person will donate another £10 to remind the streamer and chat that they just donated £100, in the most pathetic cringe imaginable. "um you failed to notice me senpai, throwing money away that took me days to earn!" YouTube Video Placeholder oh yes just 2 more episodes and we will continue through the manga weeeeeee Leviathan.Celebrindal

I was already having a great day, but that Gustaberg ***hit the spot. It's like 70 degrees here and some new clothes I bought came. All looks good and I'm really feeling like I have a ton of energy in this sunshine. Wish every day were like this lol

"um you failed to notice me senpai, throwing money away that took me days to earn!" It's kind of the same thing with being a big Patreon simp. You wind up donating huge amounts of money to them for months, and you're supposed to get big rewards because of it, but inevitably their brand grows and they put into their own rewards less and less, failing to meet the minimum. A ton of top tier patrons don't reduce their support though. They just keep giving money, basically letting the person do whatever they want. Then, if you do reduce your support, like, at all, the creator stops giving you any time at all. Even if you're still a patron! It's definitely not worth it. I think, in some way, more than just the attention thing, somehow people equate their donations with getting closer to the streamer/content creator, and for some folks it never settles in that it's basically like giving stripper money for the Champagne room. It's a job to them. They feel close to your money, not to you lol. Bismarck.Josiahflaming

Watched lobosjr since when it was just Justin.tv and he still worked at BioWare on Star Wars Knights of the old Republic, and streaming was just a hobby.
Been meaning to create a twitch to donate to him and thank him for the thousands of hours of entertainment but haven’t got around to it. Think he raised like 400,000 dollars for St. Jude children’s hospital one year during a 24-hr stream-a-thon so it became a yearly thing, and earned a lot of respect from me because I don’t think I could handle doing that. I haven't ever personally donated to a streamer/YouTuber, but I think it makes sense to drop the occasional donation commensurate with the amount of value that you feel you've received from the content if you want to encourage them to continue making said content.
That being said, when you have stans who frequently drop hefty chunks of their own income on rich streamers in a vain attempt to be their friend, well, that's kinda sad. |
