I found TFA and ROS to be entirely unfulfilling. TFA cgets a pass for
some of its fan service to re-establish the the franchise, but it was ultimately a retread of A New Hope & the Death Star plot.
The first 30 minutes of ROS are breakneck pacing, and the plot is the Death Star rehashed by JJ again -- all the ships are now Death Stars! Why is Palpatine the bad guy? Because he was always the bad guy! It's lazy. The Knights of Ren are a perfect metaphor for JJ's vision; he did absolutely nothing with his own creation.
I'm expecting it to be trash. Lots and lots of plot holes and "Thats not how the Force works" moments. Nonsense characters with forgettable storylines. The whole trilogy has been stupid, there are these things called storyboards, and Kathleen Kennedy has obviously never heard of them. Its been readily apparent from the moment Han Solo made his reappearance in TFA that they were just making it up as they went along. They didn't have any kind of a plan. ROS was doing so poorly with test audiences that they had to actually bring Lucas back, the guy they paid 4 billion to go away, to help them save the movie. They shot 8 endings, at least 4 openings, and the fans are going to hate it.
None of these idiots are being brought back. Kathleen Kennedy's contract is expiring, JJ and RJ are out the door, and Disney is going to hand the reins to Dave Filoni and most likely, George Lucas, the only two people that have ever given us good content. They bit off way more than they could chew. Star Wars is as big as Marvel, and it should be treated, and respected, as such.
The last season of Clone Wars is airing in February, and is finally going to show us the famous Siege of Mandalore, Ahsoka is going to go one on one with Maul and kick him off the throne. Its going to be awesome. Hopefully they include the Son of Dathomir story as well.
After that we have the Cassian Andor show, the Obi Wan Kenobi show, and also the Mandalorian, which has created more questions than answers. Where are the Mandalorian people? The last we saw them, Bo Katan had taken the dark lightsaber from Sabine and assumed command of her people. What happened? Obviously, they lost some epic war against, who? Not even the Emperor would have gone against Mandalore that way.
