Bills are kinda amusing, everything about them. Bills are sometimes affordable and sometimes way too high. There's the people who are like "I just *** paid that" as if they don't realize they have to pay it every month. Occasionally a utility will get cut off early, 2-3 days before it's supposed to and then someone has to pay some reconnect fee for something that is pretty much the company's fault; cutting ***off before they're supposed to. If you pay past due, you also have to pay that.
This brings me to the weirdest ***: I'll give them a pass on a reconnect fee, that basically a penalty, apparently Verizon charges $7 just to make a payment arrangement. You are paying $7 to just say "btw, I don't get paid till midnight so I'll get your money to you the next morning." Other companies also have these fees for payment, let me make this clear: for the ability to pay them money you owe, they charge you money you don't.
Perhaps what infuriates me is the "Why don't you just pay your *** bill? I pay mine." people. That's all well and good but it's not that simple for some people, if someone works minimum wage, they aren't going to make it. Minimum wage is basically gas and lunch money, assuming you already some how have a car. You can't afford a car and an apartment on minimum wage and still keep the lights on, it just doesn't seem mathematically possible unless you are doing something on the side. Even jobs paying higher than minimum wage seem like they'd just barely be scraping by.
I'm not sure how people do it.
use the app or the website. if a person does it over the phone cause you're adding to the queue for your inability to use the app/website you get an agent assist fee. if you're disabled and can't we'll waive it. i don't agree with it, but you can easily avoid it. it's like a stupid tax.

at that price, you either need a couple roommates, or a girlfriend, or you don't have an apartment. you're right about barely getting by above that. things get shut off, people are broke, ect. you really need a skill in america, or you're ***.
you've worked some construction, get yourself in as an apprentice electrician, they can do pretty well for themselves as journeyman, and if nothing else you can afford to be comfortable while pursing something else in your off-time.
the secret is it takes a ***pot of time and hard work and sucks ***. go get em' tiger.

I'm not sure how people do it. Often times people work more than one job, buy from bargain bins only, forgo things most of us here can't really imagine being without and the like. Or their neighborhood is a less expensive one because the toilets don't flush or something. Then there's also people who look like they're scraping by but are really far into debt to money lenders and the likes. Also strippers, strippers make tons of money, in college one girl in my class got a job working the bar in a strip club and she got $300 in tips on her first night which is less than the dancers there would make.

the trick is to talk with confidence while bsing about past experience to get into a job that makes more money. find something entry level and climb that ladder.

yeah I'm not trying to make light of the situation or make it sound easy, I've just been there, and it's a horrible feeling. It's easy to convince yourself there's no way out or light at the end of the tunnel, but there is. the struggle is real, most people are right there with you, or have been in the past.

yeah I'm not trying to make light of the situation or make it sound easy, I've just been there, and it's a horrible feeling. It's easy to convince yourself there's no way out or light at the end of the tunnel, but there is. the struggle is real, most people are right there with you, or have been in the past.
same. the biggest thing you can do is keep a job and talk out of your *** about what you did there. a good work history, no matter what it is, can get you in a lot of doors.

like i said it's a stupid tax. it's just cause there's not reason to have people waiting on hold to do something you can do 500 ways. i think payment arrangements should be set up without it, buuuuuuuuuuut they'll just respond with, "they have two ways to do that for free that doesn't cost us money for 3 transfers cause customer service is clueless on how to do it."

But mIniMum WaGe isn't supposed to be a living wage (got tired of the stupid type, just accept the sarcasm).
People struggle to survive when in reality with the technology today is asinine. Quite frankly we're over populated on this rock and the current "system" isn't sustainable long term, things will come to a point and stuff will change and probably realign. The classes hash it out all the time, it's perpetual.
