The May issue of Kadokawa's Gundam Ace magazine revealed on March 25 that three new Gundam manga series will launch in the magazine this year.
The first series is by veteran mechanical designer Kunio Okawara in a collaboration with Bandai Namco Entertainment to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the magazine and the 30th anniversary of Gundam games. The manga features a new mobile suit that can transform and combine, as well as new characters. Future issues of the magazine will reveal more about the title.
The second series is a manga adaptation of the Kidō Senshi Gundam Gaiden - Colony no Ochita Chi de game, released on the Sega Dreamcast in 1998. The magazine's next issue will have more information on the title on April 26. Jōji Hayashi previously adapted the game into a two-volume novel series in 1999.
The third series will be a completely original work by Harutoshi Fukui, the original author of the Mobile Suit Gundam UC novels.
