Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?
Wait so
You don't want new gear from new content that is actually better than what you had before? You just want to upgrade the same piece forever and have the rest be glamour pieces? What do you mean by surviving?

I mean in a perfect world where XIV wasnt just casual trap the game
Just like, either common sense adjustments or things that would provide a HUGE QoL for all players...Or like, not bad class design. Gondai by far is the battle dev that has annoyed me the most in any game ive played ever. Yes, but at level 60 high Ilvl there are still people who cant do max DPS, cant Tank/DPS at the same time, and cant Heal/DPS/Pop Cards at the same time. When you have to play with people for 60 levels in 4 man dungeons that eliminate half of the party you would think that youd become accustomed to how to play a class that yove spent that much time with (Leveling isnt like abyburning a job from 1-99 in an hour and it's not like there arent a plethora of guides in every form for each learning style).Iunno, maybe i expect too much coming from XI. This doesn't even apply to just XI or MMOs in general. Or even remotely competitive games. A lot of people don't put effort into any games because they're just games. What is this, a forum for Final Fantasy XI or something? I'm being told that's exactly what this is. Enuyasha said: » Yes, but at level 60 high Ilvl there are still people who cant do max DPS There's quite a bit of variation. For one getting geared up can take weeks due to having a 450 Tomestones per week limit on one set with the body and legs taking two weeks by themselves. Another set you can only get one piece of per week. On the gear side of things, not being at max damage is understandable for quite awhile. Then there's rotation, what happened with me was I got one opener down and apparently, at one point, even spiked higher than Dameion's DRG but after that returned to my usual damage. Then I took a break, came back and found that there was a more optimal rotation put together and over time forgot mine. So I can see where people don't hit the max but for me, it's about 2/3 my fault due to not getting my rotation down and 1/3 not my fault due to weekly cap on gear. Dameion did help me out by crafting me ilv 220 HQ everything short of a weapon. EDIT: Part of my point that got lost in that was that when you get one rotation down, especially for MCH, you may not be satisfied and try to learn another and get yourself all screwed up. Its definitely more there are stupid people that just want to remain stupid instead of play the game that they pay to suck at and waste 3/7/23 other people's time who are trying to EXP/farm/clear content. Atleast on balmung most of the people do hardcore crafting...Which in itself is pretty lulzy since all they are doing is farming gil for no other reason than to farm gil after they buy a house and max out gear. Quote: The damage your Warrior loses from using Storms Eye instead of Butchers Block (20 potency) is less than the damage ninja loses from using Dancing Edge instead of Aeolian Edge (60 potency). Or harder to calculate, but even more importantly, Armor Crush. It's about teamwork and party synergy, not self e-peen stroking. Your warrior gets to return to the highest DPS rotation one rotation faster (100+200+260 vs 150+190+250[Mandatory] then 150+190+270) while you still maintain DE (100+200+260 vs 100+200+320) wheras if both abilities stacked anyway, it wouldnt matter as both of you would be maintaining a 20% damage increase which provides more "Synergy" as the two jobs equally sacrifice to provide all three Slashing jobs with a damage bonus. Meanwhile if we look at DRK and MNK, INT-20% on a magic damage centric raid boss is a HUGE survivability boost to the main tank in a single raid boss environment and the party for magical raidwide damage with again both jobs sacrificing to benefit one other and the party In the first example the NIN gains one extra AE while the WAR has to refresh Maim for no reason when your rotation just places Armor Crush (Which by the way, you get an extra Raiton [360 potency] instead of Huton [No potency,Self buff] Which you can now delay because Armor Crush will restore it to full duration) in the same position it wouldve been anyway for the same potency as AE (A minor hassle that you WILL quickly recoup as NIN) whereas WAR has to skip out on damage (Although, without a NIN youd be doing SE anyway and without a WAR NIN would be doing DE anyway). That part of "Party Synergy" Is one example of the backwards battle system Gondai has in place. Enuyasha said: » "It's MY 12.99 and ill use whatever rotation i like" |
