Im not saying F4 where good bad, but If they do shut down all these series, tv shows, and exposure, even if Fox continues to release all these movies, they wont be able to make as much money, especially if they dont get Marvel's backup on this.
Marvel have also stated a few rules to it's writers, that they must not create new mutant characters.
while they arent shutting down X-men fully, they are however, killing/neutering/steralizing mutants. others have had their origins changed, like Miss Marvel, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, making them not mutants but something else.
and apparently some X-men titles have gone dark too.
