Watching one of my favorite let's players on Youtube play through SOMA.
That game is a lot different from what I thought it would be. It's like... Bioshock x Amnesia at least judging from the first 2 videos.

Soma is pretty horrible, it looks nice and shiny at the start but about halfway through the game just breaks and by the end you are just legitimately mad that you played it.

Yeah I was expecting more... Dead Space-like atmosphere? Not necessarily the horror / suspense that game has but just some more intense moments.
How would one describe existential horror though?
At one point they literally build up a character for a good 1/3 of the game as the "Big bad guy" and then he's never seen nor is his name even mentioned for the final 1/3 of the game.
I feel like poop, if my copay wasn't $50 I'd probably go to the doctor way before I felt like I was dying

Jesse Cox on youtube does a thing called "Scary Game Squad" and they played it, when the credits rolled the first thing someone said was "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all".
It's just such a badly written story, and it looks deep but then isn't.

Made me feel less alienated since someone like that to relate to is so uncommon. Did you think the big post credits ending ruined the game? or helped it

It never came.
Picked up some steel shavings i had swept into a pile and threw a handful at a co worker while yelling "Diamond Dust". Looked pretty cool but was definitely unsafe as hell. 3 and a half hours left on shift with my guard up for the revenge.
