They try to make Lightning the face of FF, bt it isn't going to happen. Remember Chocobo? Moogles? Black Mages? These are the faces of FF, not Lightning. Squaresoft used to make great games then Square-Enix came about and when they ran out of Squaresoft's ideas, they milked FFVII for all it was worth then they followed suit to make Lightning and do the same. The difference was that FFVII was a good game, FFXIII wasn't and SE can't handle it so, hey! Push harder! but no, goddammit, it isn't going to work. FF isn't FF anymore, the most recent FF game was Bravely Default.

I mean, I've tried to read the main gist of FFXIII and I just can't. It's boring. I mean, the best thing about the game is Vanille who is the token eye candy cheerleader and Fang who looks like she smells kinda sweaty but in a way you can look past because pheromones, son.

XIII was ok. Not exactly the best storyline, but the battle system and voice acting was ok.

XIII-2 wasn't that great. I never played XIII-3.

I mean, his waifu isn't supposed to be portrayed in a manner such as that. Cosplays are supposed to kill the waifu lusting....

I never played 2 or 3, and I quit XIII around the point where Snow gets Shiva, picked it up again months later a quit at Hope's house, picked it up again a year or two later and quit at that Gold Saucer-looking place. I can't do it.

I really enjoyed XIII, I could never get more than a few hours into XIII-2, I didn't play XIII-3. I've even replayed XIII three or so times, the only time it starts to get boring to me is once the story is over and you start doing hunts.

Also I found Vanille to be extremely annoying because her voice just didn't.......work. Like the accent was trying to be Australian but wasn't or something. Honestly it sounds boring but Lightning is by far my favorite character, Hope is annoying as hell at first but has some development, Fang is cool but feels like a side character, Sazh is token black guy and I love it.

No one likes Snow.

Answered, no. Figured it'd be a waste of money. Thought 2 might be decent because no Lightning but in the end said no.

Also for some reason with XIII-2 they remove weapon impact almost entirely. It's surprisingly important for video games to have proper weapon impact, if you hit something with a sword and it looks like you hit them with a nerf bat it just ruins it.

I understand that Serahs weapon is a transforming moogle and maybe you don't want your cute fuzzy moogle to be a deadly killing machine but it breaks the feel.

I felt sorry for Snow; his fiancee just turned to crystal and her sister is acting like it's somehow his fault and like he isn't beating himself up for it. Lightning kinda tries to beat Snow down when he's trying to save her sister. Lightning is a ***character.

My main problem with Lightning is that she's essentially early Cloud without the character development. All the negative traits of "Opening Scene" Cloud without any of the arc that fleshes him into a fully realized character.

I'm not a huge Cloud fan either, but at least he develops as a character. Unless they do it in the third game, Lightning doesn't get any of that. Which, really, is a bit of a bummer; FF needed a new face, and having it be a girl would have been a nice change. But she's completely one-dimensional as a character, which really limits her appeal to anyone who isn't just looking at the artbook.

I'd love for them to turn Lightning into a fully developed character, but they had three games to do it and couldn't get it done. Let's hope the Bro Patrol in XV fares better.
