In the book they were saying that if you bought an item for $10 and sold it for $20, it would be a 50% profit margin.... This was driving me up the wall I had to read on another site why this is true. Then I found out that profit margin is 'what you sold the item for' and 'what you paid for the item'... http://simplesmallbiz.com/understanding-the-difference-between-profit-margin-and-markup/ Profit margin = 10/20 = 0.5 (50%) Random story time! I just told Dameion this against his will. I think he's AFK.
As a teen, with the Clinton weapons ban lifted, I had my eye on an assault rifle called an SKS, they were used by various countries and various guerrilla forces, rebel forces, etc. from 1945 probably to present in some poorer countries, it was a very cheap weapon. After the need for them had passed they were wrapped in whatever paper was handy and thrown in crates of cosmoline (a waxy grease used to preserve guns and prevent rust) and stored until being bought by military surplus dealers in bulk and sold individually. So, my brother (who urged me to get something else) and I went to gun shows looking for a good deal on one. One day, I'm at a gun show and I walk up to a stand where several SKS are displayed, right at eye level is one half caked in cosmoline with strips and bits of Chinese porn stuck to the stock. In the end, I never bought an SKS. I hated that the bayonet was made onto the gun and thought it looked dumb unbolting the blade and leaving the incomplete lug hanging from the barrel. Total removal would require machining and thus permanently altering the rifle. Offline

I'm surprised more people didn't get the reference, Magnuss.
RPG Maker MV has been sent out early to those who pre-ordered off the official site. Stuff looks great.
Anyone buying on Steam still has to wait until the usual unlock time. Asura.Ina said: » Drac got a pretty hat Almost got wasabi into my eyes....oh the horror.

Which of these is correct? The Lt ran across the field. or The Lt. ran across the field. Nothing more than a period to shorten Lieutenant, but golly >.> Any help, much appreciated. Thank you very much for your time. MLA's and Oxford's online style guides don't cover military ranking, and the official US military documents prefer the official internal rank abbreviations (e.g. "PFC", "SPC", "1LT", etc.) for self-referential material. The only external style guide for writers I've found was for National Geographic... http://stylemanual.ngs.org/home/M/military-ranks ...which indicates that the second example you gave was correct. Hope that helps! /channelmagnuss off :p EDIT: Best of luck on your book sales, as well! ^^ |
