there was an issue not long ago, that people complained about Gif spamming, due to some user's browsers choking up, i believe a mod did say ease up on the gif usage, in consideration.

Also that instance was because there was several very very large gifs on a page. We're talking like 20 megabyte gifs each.

You can avoid choking up a user's dinosaur PC with slow internet by using spoiler tags
