When that happens to me it means I relaxed in the tub for too long and it indeed got cold. That can be allegorized the same way but it doesn't change the fact that most the time I drain the tub and fill it back up with hot water.

and since the balance of kindness vs. jerkiness is always perpetually maintained by the very nature of yin yang principle on opposing forces. the levels of kindness in existence right now is already at maximum. and you're insistence that there should be more kindness reflects an inability on your part to appreciate the bountiful kindness which already exists.

so it's not that there is a lack of kindness. but a lack of either appreciation or understanding or both on you part....

so a sign stating "humankind, be both". suggests and insinuates
1.) that we are neither.
2.) that "human" is intrinsically better than other species
3.) people who act in an unkind manner lose their humanity

so I find your post intellectually offensive despite my own staggering obvious shortcomings in the intellect department.

and we're talking about a bath as in a hot spring or a Jacuzzi where the temperature of the water remains fairly constant and only our perception of the temperature changes as our bodies acclimate.

who is it the finnish? that go sit in the sauna and then jump in a spring fed pond... or swedes? or both....

but is it really being kind if you are taking away someone else's ability to be kind in the process? or forcing someone else to become more evil to balance it all out?

I disagree still because there are a lot of people who show kindness towards each other and towards other beings (like animals for instance) far more than ill will and suffering towards others and other beings.

I thought balance meant that evil and good were at equal levels. Also, unlike the movies, oftentimes evil is subjective.

To a point. I mean, we can pretty much all agree that killing puppies for funsies is pretty damn evil.
