Could probably go cheaper on the Mobo and get a smaller SSD with a HDD for storage and cut off a couple hundred bucks. Assuming you already have a case as well?
Also that heatsink is massively huge... big like x-box. Might want to double check that you have space for it.

If you're building something like this, why not just go ahead and get the 980 instead of the 970? I'd also just get like a 240/320GB SSD and like a 2TB storage drive.

The problem I have with those small SSDs is that games today are freaking huge. GTA was like 80 gig. That's just one game. If games keep up with this pace thats only 2 Games and the OS.

I usually only spend $100~$150 on a mobo. The expensive ones tend to just have more bells and whistles that never get used.

If you are running a 4k monitor or a wide resolution monitor the 980 is very much worth the price. If you're using a 1920x1080 monitor then the 970 is the better purchase.

I'm basically running my laptop on my 37" monitor nowadays, so its normally at 1920x1080 res, but only really able to run XIV well at a lower setting or Full-screen

I guess a linked then. Only play games at 1920x1080 windowed in the center screen so I can look ***up on the others.
Gotcha, I do the same now days. Running 3 monitors really isn't that taxing on a videocard if your game is just on one screen (1920x1080) but when you run games with all monitors acting as 1 monitor (5k resolution as seen in my above picture on TERA) you need MOAR POWER *Tim the Tool Time Taylor laugh* and the middle tier cards will start having trouble. However you can SLI the middle tier cards and get pretty good results, usually better then 1 card of the top tier.
