so youre telling me you see no difference between a video or a game running at 30 and 60
Videos, no, how could you?

Games are different because they're never constantly running at the same rate. In one instance you could be running at 90, then some stuff happens and it will force the GPU to come down to say 20. You'll definitely notice a difference, but not the one you're thinking of. Games usually run off an average rate. Dy/Dx.

trailing the line behind a slow-moving boat

This is actually quite fun

We have like a tiny boat with hooks on it that is pulled behind and it hooks a bunch of fish lol
We used to do it on a pontoon boat...dad let a tree fall on it though. =(

We just have a normal boat at the cabin, also a canoe

It's pretty great to take it out when the lake is still since you can see all the way to the bottom

You're talking about frame instability, which isn't what the difference between 30FPS and 60FPS is.

Exactly. Games can't hold the same frame rate all the time.

Well newer ones anyway.

Old DOS games can usually stay the same now, but even then they'll still change a little bit.

Try it out. Download DOSBox and the old Descent game with show FPS enabled.

That was my whole point, it does. A video is going to be a constant rate, a game is not.

If you're able to go at 90 FPS, what the *** kind of game are you playing that pushes that straight down to 20? Not even Ace Combat 6's final mission did that when you flew into the barrel of the chandelier, granted it did cause some serious stress on the XB360

You can get 90-100 FPS by staring at a wall.

It's all in your head.

But if you want to shell out the cash for it, go ahead.

At least I would hope so. 30FPS and 60FPS is a pretty noticeable difference. You can get a 144 Hz monitor, but there comes a point when the cost outweighs the benefit, which is entirely up to the user and their uses for their system.

I think 60 FPS is just fine, I don't need anything higher than that. I don't have a computer that can hold 60FPS in modern games, but that doesn't mean I don't prefer 60 FPS.

Also, no, it's not in your head. You can actually see a difference between frame response times, especially in fast moving games like racing games, where the last frame is significantly more behind than the next when it comes to 30FPS vs 60FPS.

30FPS doesn't look horrible either, but it's not as clean. I enjoy how smoother 60FPS youtube videos are, but that doesn't make 30FPS videos unwatchable.

Saying that the human eye can't see a difference between 30FPS and 60FPS is a complete lie though.
