nvm, read it wrong.

Gaming couch needs to be softer and more 'cuddle' friendly I need to look into projection technology vs having actual display panels and see which are more suitable for various environments. I'm so used to having TVs and monitors that I never considered how cool it could be to project everything directly to a wall.

They'd be lecturing and we'd just repeat the last thing they said and cheer with claps and stuff. Teacher: "...and this section of the spine is the tail bone, it's called the coccyx." Us: "*slow claps* Alright! The coccyx! A round of applause for the coccyx, WHOO-HOO!!" We don't know why they hated us. Teacher: "That is it! Security is on their way here now!"
Us: "Whoo! Give it up for security, 5-0, the boys in blue! Alright! *continues clapping*" Bismarck.Dracondria said: » Action RPG Think Star Ocean I remember a time, yadda yadda yadda, old man whining, yadda yadda yadda.

Every projector i've ever bought has lasted me 2+ years with no problems so I upgrade every 2-3 years mainly because image quality+refresh rate+resolution support has significantly improved after that much time has passed. Been looking around for a better house lately and a good floor layout + a nice projector wall location has been one of the more important things in determining an ideal place to move to. Most people that hate projector screens havent seen the black diamond or slate screens made by screen innovations. They allow you to have a much higher ambient lighting level in the room and you get nice image contrast and the black/dark parts arent washed out. Hmm, what do I want for dinner...
I could cook up some turkey nuggets and steamed veggies... But... meh. A good projector is also only as good as the area and location, while a TV can be good anywhere, depending on it's use. Never use plasma for gaming or anything where you pause or keep a still screen for too long (usually more than 5 minutes)
Projectors are also costly when you have to replace them every 2-3 years, just to keep up and relevant. They have to be replaced every 18 months or so if you smoke indoors regularly as well. There are a lot of pros and cons to a projector screen, and it really comes down to personal choice, and available space. Where do you live Sapphire? I'm gonna

Do modern projectors have DisplayPort inputs? I think that may be a deal breaker for me. Obviously I'd expect a standard of HDMI & DVI, but I gotta push for high resolution and high refresh rate standards.
Moo goo gai pan.
gl finding a projector capable of running a resolution and refresh rate that transcends HDMI for less than $5,000 (if they even exist)
Yeah, not to mention you have to account for projection technology (DLP, LCD, LED), lumens, inputs, and also replacing bulbs.
