Also install ad block on your browser. I was going to see the latest Hobbit but I rather watch a three hour movie at home.
I was fortunate enough to see Interstellar on 70mm IMAX, and it was hell of an experience. Definitely a movie that warrants use of such expensive and immersive technology.
I think there is an IMAX somewhere near me I remember as a kid in high school we watched a movie about space on it besides feeling queasy it was enjoyable.
We have one of those but it's dome shaped, can't watch anything on it or I feel really sick lol
It's only used for science stuff though, showing space or the sea for example Bismarck.Dracondria said: » We have one of those but it's dome shaped, can't watch anything on it or I feel really sick lol It's only used for science stuff though, showing space or the sea for example Yea I enjoyed it but felt sick the entire time. Guess that isn't an IMAX more of 3D type of thing. I have no problem with normal 3D in movies but the Imax is dome shaped so it just makes me want to throw up
Yea I don't think I could handle 3D movies or TV.
Edit we had the same thing for a movie about space that stupid dome. Honestly 3D does little to nothing for me. If anything, the fact that I have to wear glasses to experience it ruins any benefit I'd gain from the 3D effect.
I suppose there's a "sweet spot" in the balance between comfort and immersion. 3D is always a lot darker than normal movies too, I prefer non-3D
If it's done well it's cool though I remember those stupid blue and red 3D glasses from when I was like 10.
And thinking is this 3D or just red and blue bs. lol I hate going to the movies. Always get one of the stereotypical things to happen when I try to watch them.
Uncontrolled Kids. Person with Cell Phone on. Noisy Eater. The Talker. The Bathroom runner. I remember watching one of the Pirates of the Caribbean. And every time Jack Sparrow was on the screen a little kid yelled. That's Captain Jack Sparrow! Wanted to punch that kid in the face. lol
I think punching 8 year old kids in the face is frowned upon though... 3D was a gimmick and so many people fell for it.
I think I've been to like 1 movie just to try it out (and I think the other one was sold out anyway) and it wasn't worth it. The technology hasn't really improved in decades. The human eyes aren't meant to see things that way (now you get holograms working, and we'll talk). It gives a lot of people headaches. The stuff is usually shot in lower quality. The price is artificially jacked, to make people think it's better. **** while sitting in front of my 3DS. fonewear said: » I remember watching one of the Pirates of the Caribbean.
