Honestly, it's written into thousands of years of evolution to enjoy bacon.

It has all the major components that hominids struggled to get for the first 95% of the species' survival. Salt, fat, protein. All it would need is carbohydrate to quite literally be a king of food.

Because of these things, the human tongue interprets it as immensely tasty.

It is the food of the Gods.. Bacon goes with everything.. It's also one of the only foods that I can eat copious amounts of, and not tire of it..
