Basically the first Left 4 Dead had it's own set of characters and campaign maps. Left 4 Dead 2 came out and had it's own set of new characters and campaigns. However, the system within 2 is a lot more desirable for the new thrown weapons and melee weapons and other nifty things like new zombie monsters, so rather than slighting everyone to being forced to play the first L4D, they released the old maps with the old characters for the second game while keeping all the awesome stuff therein.

But that's great you have one...I always thought they were kind of fun with the multi-coloured inserts. :p Very rugged and almost impossible to destroy.

It's original left4dead1 map in l4d2. they beta release the maps because they're glitchy as anything with a different engine.
This is the 3rd of 4 original l4d1 maps released for l4d2. Basically they're making 2 a remake of 1 instead of coming up with new content.
It's not l4d3
i guess you can call it dlc but it's completely integrated into the pc version, steam automatically updates the game with it in for free.
