they've talked about adding pets to dragoon. would be extremely thematically inconsistent, but he's said in interviews that they've already considered what would need to be rebalanced in order to add a pet.

Never said it would be added to dragoon lol. I think it would be a great option for if they add a Tamer class. Could have BST as a Job.

There are automatons, so it's not impossible the idea of a class that is able to control them. But I somehow doubt it'd be as flexible as XI's pup.
As for sam I think it's pretty safe to assume it'd be a tank whenever it's added. They can't add only dps as they progress(and there are a few worth adding still) and there aren't many classes that can be shaped for a tank role. Sam is one of them as it's often based off deflecting and countering.

woke up at 4somethingAM, did a few things now trying to go back to sleep, and debating if I should even try, or if I should get up and do Toau missions or quest these few trusts for my alts in wotg areas (will probably annoy me as they don't have all of the areas, if any).
