Psychological ***sticks with you forever. The key is learning to minimize it and striving to keep it that way. I doubt anyone on the team was qualified to help him deal with his ***.

Granted, it's text based, so tone isn't really graspable, but from the last third on, Cloud seems an entirely different person in my eyes, both in writing and action. He then regresses to Midgard Cloud in Advent.

You are making this very not fun by applying psychoanalytical methods to video game characters we were lightheartedly exchanging banter about and pictures of. Pretty sure most of us have enough psych 101+ experience to both realize what you're saying is right, and then subsequently disregard it because we're joking about a video game.
As such, I have chosen to go a different direction with the conversation now!

Advent happens after he realizes he's got a ***ton of negative baggage to go through and starts avoiding people because that's the only sensible thing he can think of. Also, dying from Geostigma.

I know the story and circumstances. The character shift just seems disjointed and more like a backpedal than a development. Cloud is more of a badass than Zack!Cloud anyway.

I feel soiled :x decided to buy an xb1 today (essentially was free for me with my college refund)
Now to debate making a new gt or try to figure out my old one (do my old games work on the 1?)

I'm really not a fan. I don't hate it. But I really wouldn't even put it top 3.
Cloud's personality can be explained by the shitty life he has had.
Lonely kid, almost causes death to a childhood friend.
Goes to the city to become a big shot, ends up a failure and a grunt, nearly dies and barely saved by a friend who dies doing so.
(some memory loss due to the shock?)Takes friend's identity, meets a girl who he "falls" for, girl dies, and never loves "him".
Stuck on saving the world, turns into a vegetable and nearly dies again.
Saves the world but major cities still fall.
left to pick up the pieces of himself before new conflict arises.

Which is why I'll actually soon be buying a new PS3 for DA:I and various other purposes rather than making the jump to PS4.
When they start releasing good franchise titles that make it worth the investment, I'll buy.

I feel XIII was garbage and I will not back down from that stance.

I got over it, I was more upset when they announced it with those *** things they were going to do.
That and I've come to the realization that there are some games I want that will be only on the xb1.
