Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?
Schizm Gallantry said: » When I think about my music preference, yeah, I am all over the place. In high school, played in a metal band, side gigged playing punk, went to industrial clubs downtown in Chicago and dated a hippie girl. It was an interesting time when things progressed to the Seattle sound, but I still think NIN popularity was a fluke. I love NIN but when 'Closer' was played, I was asked to play that song because of the catch line. Don't get me wrong, NIN is the guideline of industrial, just don't think the outside casual listener really cared for NIN. NIN is a quasi-niche artist who has occasionally swung into the mainstream. Nothing wrong with that. Trent seems to be successful with what he does on a level with which he's comfortable as an artist. Nothing wrong with making bank here and there when the mainstream picks up on it. And hey; maybe he picks up some new long-term fans with those forays too. Outside of metal previously discussed in the past few days here, the other thing I've been listing to a lot of is...I don't know what to call it, really.
Jojo Mayer/Nerve. It's like...electrofusionjazz. I don't know. I hate music classifications. Some of them are so lame and nitpicky. All I know is Jojo is one of the best drummers on the planet currently recording. It's difficult for me to just sit and watch videos online. I don't have the attention span to be on a computer and not doing something else too. But I can watch him for hours. I'm addicted to Dave Matthews and acoustic guitar New Age like Don Ross and Andy McKee.

YouTube Video Placeholder I can handle Dave Matthews to a point but there's too many memories of too many friends being absolutely obsessed in the late 90s/early 00s. I don't know if I'm obsessed per se... I do have all their albums, but I don't listen to them all the time. If anything, I'd be more obsessed with Mastodon.

Between my high school graduating class and the many girls I met during my first few years of college approximately 99.5% of them loved Dave Matthews more than air. Within that .5% were deaf girls and my now-wife. Bismarck.Ramyrez said: » Bismarck.Magnuss said: » I don't know if I'm obsessed per se... Well, I got my SSD for my boot drive, but now I need a mass storage disk drive. Should I opt for a 4 TB or would 3 be enough?

The mobo & GPU are on their way here now. But here's what I went with. I opted for a mediocre CPU for the time being and went with a Z97 chipset so I can jump into Devil's Canyon when the money permits, and the 750Ti will be a stepping stone until I can afford a nice 770 or 780ti. Other than that all it needs is some more mass storage drives. Maybe a second SSD for RAID 0. Did some of XIV story content, and it somehow feels half assed and dull.
Hopefully it gets better after Rahmu fight. Anna Ruthven said: » Bismarck.Ramyrez said: » Anna Ruthven said: » Bismarck.Ramyrez said: » Bismarck.Magnuss said: » I don't know if I'm obsessed per se... You're putting way too much thought into something that was meant to be a one-off quip about how many college-age girls at the time loved them some DMB. Yea half of it feels like they could of put in 2.2 easy, but the CS in the 2nd half (and the last one) are amazing.

Unless you do a lot of composing, video editing, etc. I'd just get a 2TB drive. Otherwise you're going to need to either partition it into multiple drives or download and install some additional drivers for it to be recognized as a single large partition. Sometimes these drivers can be wonky to get working and keep working. Other times, they work flawlessly. I myself would rather just play it safe and get a 2TB or a couple 2TBs. Also, putting 2 SSDs into RAID 0 won't net you much of a performance increase across the board. RAID does more for HDDs than it does for SSDs. Also, if your SSD seems a little sluggish, or if you test it and aren't getting the speeds that are advertised, try enabling AHCI mode in your BIOS. Some SSD don't work very well without it, while others do. I have an Intel one.
