if you really want to give him a physical thing, try to have it match the theme of what you two do together for the day/evening. It'll help keep the memory alive and they work hand in hand that way.
I know he's taking me somewhere, won't tell me, that day. I thought like a concert maybe, we haven't been to one together, but it's so hard for us to get the same days off
