That's one thing I really hated about Dark Souls 2's PVP. It was very easy for it to be a giant cluster *** if you didn't clear an area's mobs. I don't think I've had an honorable duel in that game at any point and time.
The best one was in the Lock of Pharros, that room with the rats that petrify with the dwarf dudes up on the ledge waaaaaaay up there, and you're trudging through waist high water. Some dude invaded or whatever, and he decides to shoot at me from up above with poison arrows. Meanwhile I'm having to deal with all those rats, the elephant warrior thing, and dodging the axe throwing dwarves. I managed all this pretty well, and got to shooting back at him, so he comes on down and tries to fight me in the water. I beat his ***, but he made an escape up into the tunnel where there were even more petrifying rat thingies, and I went in there to take him. I beat his *** again, and he escaped some more, and then I got hit by some more rats and died to petrification. He invaded me a second time, and I led him into the water and used lightning to kill him, which I'd have done the first time, but had used all my charges earlier in the area.
