Decided I was going to do a little schoolwork before hitting the hay... but school email and the blackboard are both down for maintenance... during the last week of classes.

Back to videogames it is!

My professor was complaining about blackboard the other day. His alternative solution? A locally run version of blackboard. Yeah, because the IT team at our school who let 65% of the campus product licenses expire this year are going to be real on top of managing their own blackboard system.

At least you don't have to deal with tk20. When I got into the teacher's college, they started blathering about all the crap we had to spend money on. 65 bucks for a fingerprint card, 95 bucks for NES tests (I had to take two) and 108 bucks for *** tk20, an online program that they promised we'd have to use in our career as an online portfolio for future employers to see, and since then haven't used it for jack ***. And now they want another 120 for my certification. I hope they realize that as a teacher, I'm going to be making ***and really can't afford all this ***.

Just point the zapper gun into a light bulb and you automatically hit all the ducks.

No zapper, just a rectangle controller.

Finally a C shift where I don't really have anything on my plate for the day... but now I don't know what to do.

Been taking this week off lifting and already did my cardio... so I guess I could do doubles for cardio only. Could always finish Final Fantasy XIII that I started last week, got to disk 3 and haven't touched since then. Could go to the gun range, haven't been in a couple of weeks.

AHHH CHOICES!

Graduating with my bachelor's degree either in a couple of weeks (pending grades on final exams) or next month.

Didn't get into pharmacy school, unfortunately, so this is the other option I was exploring

Eh... while it would be cool to do, I don't think it would be really worth it for roughly ~2k/month salary.

Honestly though, they pay for your rent(Not utilities though); so add an extra 500-1000/month if comparing to US prices, since you won't be incurring that expense.

On top of that, if you do private tutoring on the side, you can get the equivalent of $20-30/hr doing that, so money really isn't an issue. I see it as a chance to get out of the country and doing some traveling while I'm young. Would rather live over there for a few years and come back with money in my pocket, than have to save up for a while and only be able to visit for 2 weeks

Alright I am spent..

Been looking through Linux manuals, having Ubuntu/Bash podcasts playing in the background and been trying to learn as much "A to Z" without actually having a project in mind. I hate trying to learn stuff like this because you are literally going from the front to the rear of commands references trying to remember everything.

I have two podcasts to listen to while I go to sleep but really my mind isn't running on rails.

I'll talk to everyone later....
Yeah, it would go in one ear and out the other for me, I don't learn things that way.

During weeks 1-17, I love it. It makes things really convenient to check grades and post papers at midnight. What I don't like is week 18 when it always goes down due to heavy population, and that's the same time they always choose to do maintenance. So you think that you have an hour left to finish your work before submitting it? Guess again, idiot. The site's down, and it won't be back up until tomorrow at 3pm, and your professor has no sympathy for you because "You should have been working on that paper weeks ago."

On week 18, *** Blackboard.

Well the Prof is right...

They announce their down times ahead of schedule, it's nobody's fault but your own. (unless of course it's an unexpected down time, but then again you shouldn't wait until the last minute anyway, in case something happens to your PC/power/internet, etc).

Oh, I personally typically get my homework done and turned in the weekend before that week, but it's still a pain in the ***, especially when you realize you forgot something and have to scramble to put it in and submit it again. But as a whole, that week sucks.

I mean if nothing else and blackboard is down, they should at least let you submit via email, at least for a timestamp.

But I realize that some are unforgiving in that aspect as well, in which case I wouldn't really blame blackboard as honestly down times happen (maintenance/upgrades etc) but more so on the prof for being totally unforgiving, but like we said: shouldn't have waited to the last minute /onthefenceson
