Edit: figured out i can just get newest game client straight from website, gonna do it that way.
I guess my discs are just way to ancient!

I've never been able to get the "Compatibility mode" to work, for anything.
there are patches for the game though I'm sure, but it could boil down to version.

I'm looking for what it was I installed, but there is a small mod you can get that will allow full screen in Windows 7. Trying to find the file at the moment.

Oh, it wasn't a mod I used. (Attempted to use one but it became a pain) In the D2VidTest, select this instead of the others.
If the 3dfx Glide option doesn't appear for you.

Yeah, I had to use it. :3 Sadly though, the game doesn't detect my video card in this laptop. Not really compatible with Nvidia Optimus.
Gonna sleep for now, will mess around with stuff in the morning.

It's not an issue with pure recognition. My actual video card technically doesn't even turn on unless a game tells it to. When I don't need any heavy graphical processing power, my laptop reverts to on-board graphics to save energy and reduce heat.
In the control panel it doesn't give me the option to make my 780M the default/preferred video processor. For D2 anyway. Works fine with newer games.
Not like D2 lags with the Intel 4600 series anyway.

When you go to create a character, make your region USEast. Then on the character creation screen check mark ladder character.

Yeah ladder was already checked when I went to make a character so I just left it like that.
