I'm pretty sure xbox controllers work automatically with PC without any additional software, PS3 requires MotioninJoy for Windows to know which button is which.

that's what I do, it's the best option possible due to the shitty Port job they did
I think it comes down to preference of the analog sticks, you can program the PS3 controller to have the same button commands as an xbox controller.

the abyss didn't make him stronger, I don't know where you got that theory. Artorias is right handed. but his right hand was destroyed and he was forced to use his huge sword not only with one hand, but with his left hand. that's like us trying to pull ourselves up a rock wall using solely our off hand. Imagine if he was at 100%.

But exactly: Ornstein is alive and still following the orders of the gods like he always has. There is no indication of his diminished capacity. He's just plain weak as hell.
Everything I've read or seen has implied that at the time of their anointment, Ornstein WAS the strongest of the group. You can argue time differences or lack of foresight by From for Ornstein's weakness, but the way I see it, Ornstein's a chump. Ciaran's a chump. Gough is a chump. Artorias is the only one that's a real challenge, and if he were as strong as you're saying, he would have obviously been appointed as the general.

I guess you can chalk it up as personal preference. I love the way the PS4 controller FEELS, it's a lot better designed than the PS3 controller.

I only say "best option" because they just used the xbox version of the game and threw it on PC pretty much. so all the screen prompts etc are coded and color designed for xbox buttons from the start.

personally the sensitivity of the PS3 controller triggers is the main reason it's garbage. so many times I set the controller on a desk and come back to my character having one shot a blacksmith lol

Artorias is weaker when you run into him in Oolacile than if you'd run into him before his trip into the Abyss. He lost the use of an arm down there. He lost the use of the best greatshield in the game AND his ability two use his weapon to its full potential.

And being captain doesn't necessarily mean the strongest.

my USB xbox controller is the same shape and size as the playstation controller but the thumbsticks are the same layout as xbox, and the D-pad is like playstation, best controller i have have owned in a while

I also figure Ornstein gained his Captaincy through his dragon slaying prowess. His entire thing is being a dragon slayer, lightning affinity and piercing weapon!

Nah, the buttons themselves are extremely loose. The number of times I've thrown out an unintended R2 or parry in the middle of a match... :<

Yeah I don't play FFXIV but I can totally imagine playing it with a PS3 controller, going to put down the controller to type or something, then both L2 and R2 trigger and do whatever they do in FFXIV.

I bought one a year ago for I think 20 dollars, definitely worth it but it was cheaply made and stopped working after only a few months.

I guess you can chalk it up as personal preference. I love the way the PS4 controller FEELS, it's a lot better designed than the PS3 controller.

I've never like playstation controllers even since ps1 cause they're just too small to me, i just find them to difficult to grasp.

Honestly, the xbox 360 controller spoiled me, and I loved PS1 / PS2 controllers.

Now I'm just sad I can't have that design on PS3 :<

Doesn't help that all the Xbox lookalikes for PS3 have huge deadzone problems.
