Pretty much all weapon categories have some elemental ws. Considering some are still used occasionally it was necessary so that they wouldn't have a ridiculous low accuracy.

I'm afraid my ignorance is pretty boundless in this regard until I bother to start playing again, which won't happen anytime soon. But thank you for informing me nevertheless.
I remember in abyssea, magic based weapon skills got super powerful because of the atmas and whatnot, making them really high damage due to lack of resistance and significant boosts to elemental affinity or something of the like.

I take it the lack of buffs to elemental affinity and lack of magic accuracy (skill) in addition to high level NMs having a high bar of resistance makes for pitiful damage results :<
yeah even with magic accuracy and mab, theres some serious mdb/magic eva going on with certain targets in regards to elemental weaponskills, so they're all garbage even with perfect corsair rolls for macc and mab on hardmodes usually -_-

On a side note, I'm discovering how listening to isolated vocals/instrumentals in a song really change perspective on the composition/origins of the song. It's pretty fascinating.

Yeah, I knew MAC helped avoid resistances and MAB upped the bar in damage for magical based weapon skills, but it looks like SE just didn't quite crunch the numbers very well and set some bars too high and others too low.
The RNG gods need to let you win rank1 bonanza on that mule
