and Sadly those were few and far between and made up the best parts of the show. :/

I was wandering around the XIV official forum and got absorbed in a thread where everyone was trying to claim their class is the hardest to play, like there's some kind of pride in that. Was funny and confusing at the same time.

Bard is the hardest to play, you don't have to stand in one place or be in certain positions... but you gotta play songs and shoot things >:| it's really hard!

For the past year or so, we've had a white and gray cat hanging around work. Cute little stray, keeps the mice, spider, and general pest populations down, doesn't cause any trouble. We put water out for it in the summer.

Towards the end of last week, one of the machinists thought he ran it over and was just so sad. He killed the cat! Bummer! And CCL, being that she's CCL, was also heartbroken.

Well, every morning we get a 10-minute break at 10:30. So it's 10:39 or so and I'm heading back to my seat to sit down and get back to work, and I look out the window and that cat is just sitting out there chilling.

Well, CCL had been SO sad about it getting run over that I called her over and pointed it out. Look, there's the kitty, it's all ok. Yay.

And even though break time was over, CCL bolted outside to see the kitty. She spent ten minutes stalking it across the parking lot, then caught it finally, and took it to her car. She opened the door of her car and that cat flipped and ran away again.

(Meanwhile my boss is inside fuming that a dadblasted cat is causing so much distraction, both with CCL outside and the rest of us watching the show from inside. Oops.)

So CCL comes back in just worried as heck. That kitty is so cold, she says. That kitty is malnourished, she says. (It looks fairly well-fed to me, but I'm no cat expert.) That kitty is clearly not being care for by anyone, she says. My boss is like "LEAVE THAT BLOODY CAT ALONE. IT'S LIVED HERE FOR A YEAR. HOW WOULD YOU LIKE IT IF YOU WERE JUST HANGING AROUND YOUR HOME AND SOMEONE DECIDED YOU WERE MALNOURISHED, PICKED YOU UP, CHUCKED YOU INTO THEIR CAR, AND TOOK YOU HOME WITH THEM?"

And I swear CCL didn't hear a word of it, she spent the next ten minutes fussing over the cat. Then I made a very grave mistake. In an attempt to ease her worries, I told her she could always catch it again later, like on her lunch break or after work. And she took that idea and RAN with it! She usually takes lunch around 1 or so. She clocked out for lunch about a quarter after 11, spent her ENTIRE thirty minute lunch break trying to catch the cat again (meanwhile boss practically has steam coming out his ears,) managed to stuff it in her car after about 40~45 minutes, and heads home.

Yes, she's going to take a wild, stray, possibly flea-ridden, possibly diseased cat that she does not know home, drop it off with her five cats that she already has at home, and leave it there with them while she comes back to work. That's the plan, anyways. She doesn't mind if she has to take a two-hour lunch break to accomplish it.

And now we don't have a resident cat at the company to keep the varmint population in check. Derp.

I am so sorry. I shouldn't have pointed it out to her to begin with, and then I shouldn't have suggested that she worry about the cat on her own time. I didn't think she'd actually halt the work day to MAKE it her own time, then take four times longer than she's supposed to, in order to catch a stray cat. ;; In fact, I figured that by the time the day was over and she had time to do anything with it, that cat would have had the sense god gave a doorknob and ran away to hide somewhere.

Oops.
