Anyone else actually come up with a nickname for their non-chocobo mounts? I named my Coeurl. ._. Aevan.. After A. E. van Vogt, the author that came up with the idea of Coeurls.

That'll learn you to jump around randomly!

I have yet to get any non-chocobo mount. I named my chocobo Anhinga.

Unrelated, but I just managed to finish Brayflox's Longstop. I was a bit worried that I'd suck at it because I had heard it was one of the harder early dungeons, but it didn't go too badly. We wiped twice, trying to get a feel for the fight and the techniques, but the third time it was smooth sailing.

I had fun with that one, didn't seem to be that hard lol.

I had a bickering DF party for Brayflox. If they hadn't been acting so... Well, you know. If they hadn't acted out, it would've been easy.

In my experience:

Spam the 3 level 15 dungeons (or halatosis for level 20 - personal preference may vary) > spam longflox > get all green gear for last two steps > get af > be 50.

I get a lot of "boo hoo i cant do dungeon well. boo hoo dis game so hard" and then get told "well i dont like dungeons so i just spam fates and my gear off the ah is TOTALLY good without materia in it!". I don't think it's THAT vital for DDs but tank-class gear thats nq is making your life harder than it needs to be.

Brayflox is pretty fun when you don't have s--- for brains PUGs to deal with.

First time I did Brayflox with my tanking PLD companion, we got DF'd with a BLM who basically said "f---ing Flash after every combo" so he could AoE burn mobs down. Mind you, he was in gear from Toto Rek and lower and by the time we killed the first mob, the second and third mob only lost about 5% HP and I was basically hitting my Cure button over and over again. He was cussing and screaming at my PLD so she said goodbye and dropped and I said good bye and dropped with 'em. Have fun queueing up as DD again.

But yeah, Brayflox is when the kiddy gloves begin to come off and interesting mechanics start to filter into the boss combat. It's not hard persay, as I generally do Brayflox with a WHM WHM PLD BRD setup now a days for giggles (yes, my group of friends have too many WHMs leveled), but it's when the difficulty begins to increase in the game.

i thoroughly enjoyed every dungeon EXCEPT av. even with ls members (not randoms) i would probably not do it again. just too much "crap everywhere" to deal with for me.

I'd probably put Stone Vigil down as my least favorite. I really like the Isgebind fight, but the trash in there is really annoying.

Did ok in AV until the boss, then my PUG kinda fell apart (we gave it our all but kinda fell short)

Right now it's AK that's giving me issues, but I'll eventually get it i'm sure.

I'm looking forward to doing Stone Vigil and Darkhold =D

There's a chest room in there with two cockatrice and 2 elementals that is a *** to tank smoothly. I would ask my group how badly they really wanted that loot.
