I havent seen pacific rim yet, but evangelion was the first thing I thought of too.

I have seen it, and the only similarities to Eva are "Giant Robots" and "Asian Chick with blue hair". It's not trying to be Eva either. The Eva comparisons hold absolutely no water.

If "It's just ripping off Eva" is your excuse to not see it, I suggest dropping the $10 just to see how wrong that belief is.

I should clarify, it's that GROWN UPS 2 (an incredibly meh, unfunny-"comedy") did better. Kids movies are hard to knock down when they get #1.

I got a taste of FFXIV just to have it taken away until phase 4. Got the game for Christmas back when it first came out so I'm ready for it to be released.

Story actually felt like an Ivalice Alliance game, like FFXII. Really has me thrilled, since FFXII was my favorite game and this feels really similar.

It's like they're taking all the elements that worked in previous FF titles and stuffed it all into one game. Materia from FF7, scenery and settings from FF9 and of course the story as you mentioned.
