It's uber-beginner level physics. We're learning about electricity, Coulomb's Law and all that happy jazz. ;; I'm an English major; I've never, ever been good at the science stuff. My husband keeps telling me it's completely easy too, Das! But he's an electrical engineer, so him saying electricity is too weak just doesn't make me feel all that much more secure about it. xD
I bet it looks weird to people looking at my schedule without knowing my circumstances, though. They'd see a level 100 physics course next to level 500 English courses and think I was a complete weirdo. lol ;;

The source of the words often does not matter as much as the brain between the ears receiving those words.
Some people value repetition and close camaraderie. Others, as I think you're suggesting, are more impressed when a normally-quiet voice actually speaks up.
Communication is a funny, funny system. It's SO much easier to miscommunicate than it is to accurately communicate ... and no matter what, no matter how well one speaks, or how often one speaks ... the speaker can only control 50% of the communication relationship.
Politicians make or break their careers based on how well they understand and utilize this concept. It doesn't matter what you want to say, or how you want to say it .... what matters is what does the listener want to hear, and what will get them to listen ...
Spicy :-( you do not have to be perma-banned. The changes to the forum don't have to see ANYone banned. We just all have to be a little better behaved, is all. I hope you do not get banned, but I think you think you will be banned so you aren't even trying to be good.
But anyhow. From one who speaks often, their words will still be valued by those who love them deeply. From one who does not often speak, I think that when they do speak it's taken as more meaningful. There's merit in both. It obviously meant something special to Eric that you remembered his birthday and cared enough to let him know you remembered. It was sweet of you.

So when I am in what ever class (I never cared and still do not care about college, and I am just doing it and doing it fairly well to get it over with and out of the way) of the day I tend to lean back in my chair and think off about an infinite number of things.
Anyway, my birthday is in April, and so is his. I pretty much never talk to Eric at all (not purposely or anything) and it came to mind to call him and wish him a happy birthday.
He was out bowling when I did. To which I called him a bowling *** who likes to finger balls, and he said to call him when he got home. Anyway, he said it really made his day. Which of course does not melt my cold heart, but it got me thinking.

I like the optimism here, even if I find it hard to agree with in this situation. :3
I'm going to go out on a limb and say the fact that the most outrageous personalities are asked to tone it down a little isn't going to change the tone of the site so much that it will be a different site. The only way it could change would be if the most outrageous personalities refuse to tone it down a little, and they get themselves banned.
And cmon, saying things like "xxx population is getting what they deserved by yyy disaster" isn't something you can realistically expect to be appropriate, even in jest. I've seen things along those lines said on multiple occasions.
