It worked just fine for Rift and every other game I've played for 3 months! >:(
Plus I actually just used the recommended settings! ; ; ...and it worked just fine the first weekend on 14!

Just googled rift,big difference between something that recommends a GTX250 vs something that recommends a GTX660 :P I'm sure almost every other game was lower spec too :P
I can max out most games just fine with no issues, quiz you just high standards lol.

Actually rift on 3 monitors on ultra puts my 590 at 80+c on 85% fan speed....
It's low end specs are really weak but it scales to the upper end pretty strong.

lol... I can't really think of any games right now that I have that have HIGH max settings on it (maybe remember me? probably not?)
XIV is on it's max and is fine (but it's also in beta still, not on it's full settings I think...)

Big difference :P That would have her 660 blown up long time ago!
my laptop runs hot after a little while on XIV on (mostly) standard settings, got about a 1500 on the Benchmark. I think it also has something to do with the amount of dust I can't get to inside. Hopefully it doesn't hinder it too much

Rift with triple monitors gets hotter than XIV.
660ti(not 660, there is a noticeable performance jump and you've been saying the weaker card) is more than capable of supporting 1 monitor on 1920x1080 on max or nearly maxed settings. The problem was that it was on the default fan speed, not the load on the card.

I'd like to get a second monitor, but ... I need to find a GPU that offers x2 HDMI output ... this one only has 1 ... and i'm looking at getting another of these monitors I have now.

Very cheap can even get a cord on amazon for like $10 that is half hdmi and half dvi....

Now that I think about it. Az,your GPU kerrploding is uri's fault. I'm sure he was on your pc at least once. Shame on you uri for not doing something as basic as that (for us) for the laypeople!

i'd LIKE to play games with multi monitors, but i'd actually... not really know where to start ... or know if I have a good base to start on ... (my GPU is probably gonna be the weakest link... maybe...) case I know is good enough know,

this is one of the reasons i go all out when building a pc. Spending 70% of the money and then another 60% of the original cost just to see a marginal upgrade that is still probably worse than if I had went full on originally. That and the reason I game on pc is to be able to max (proper usage of the term!) stuff
