:/ I tried to read the first book, and didn't make it very far. It wasn't that it was boring, it was just that there were so many characters that I couldn't keep them straight and that got frustrating. If I have to have a chart to see which character is who, then you have too many darned characters. But since most of them apparently die, I suppose there has to be a lot of them.

And it wasn't even that there were so many. I mean, I love the entire Harry Potter series and that has tons of characters too. It's just that the author didn't go into any great detail about any one character (as far as I read he hadn't, anyways) so I found it difficult to care about them. I was much more interested in the wolves that the kids obtained early in the first book than about any of the actual people. (Then again, from a work conversation, my boss is pretty sure that if he and a puppy were both drowning I'd save the puppy. So maybe it's just me!)

Uh, where was I going with this? Oh yeah! If someone told me every single thing that happened in GoT, it would still not be a spoiler because by the time I read it, I will have forgotten who they said did what to who.

Right now I'm reading Uncle Tom's Cabin. I was appalled that I made it all the way through high school and college without ever being required to read it. I tried reading it out loud to my dogs, they will be literary darn it! but it says the N-word so many times I couldn't. I had to bleep it out or read the whole thing in my head. :x

I love the book for it's historic purposes, but honestly it's not a very good book...

so I bought Star Trek 1~6 at walmart, for $15, saw 2 of them so far, and seeing a lot of references used on the JJ Abrams films <3

also, managed to snag a couple Superman Man of Steel Tickets for an early showing. a day before it releases, at 7pm, now I dont have to go see it at midnight :D

I'm likely gonna go to the new imax screen in dublin to go see man of steel~

I've read the first two books and I get what you are saying... He tells a good story but I didn't really find myself caring about any of the characters. Can't really explain it, they just didn't come alive for me like they do with most of the authors I read from. I'm hoping to watch before reading this time around because even knowing what happens I found myself caring more with the show than the book.

im am hyped to go see it, would really, really like to see a good superman movie for once, especially after the last one was so ***-tastic, it had me raging for so many reasons.

I am in the same boat with all of the characters.
I am more than likely going to buy the audio books, even if they are each 40 hours long.
