yea its a remake OVA, 1 of 4 parts 1.11 and 2.22 are out in NA atm and 3.33 soon. its more along the line of what the original creators wanted before they got thier funding cut and such

yea wasnt doing good at first and they started running out of money fast, reason why the original final episodes was soo.. wierd on some of the animations, tho what they show on tv now and what ya can find online are basicly reanimated on some scenes. ie: a scene in ep 23 with rei having very cheap and bad animation was reanimated, to her scowling at gendo's glasses instead of just a still. also more of Asuka's backstory was cut entierly to meet budget. the list goes on lol
