So a buddy of mine has a laptop that he wants to sell me for cheap. The graphics card is "Intel HD Graphics 4001" he said. Would this be enough to play ffxiv? All other specs fit as far as I can tell.

if you go down one or two results on the page you'll see the wiki page for intel hd graphics. it says it's an integrated graphics chip meaning it's part of the cpu not an actual graphics card. this will never be good for playing games.

The official specs for XIV arent finished yet but the.new engine will require less power to get decent results. Integrated chips might work but arent officially supported,and you'd be lucky to get 20fps on lowest settings they're that bad for gaming.

You will likely need something like an 8600, or 9600 for minimum spec. But in this day and age you can get a decently priced laptop with a decent card for not that much money
