400MB with Palemoon on Windows 7 64-bit. Been running all day and I've got YouTube and Tumblr with an embedded music player tabbed.

Firefox is using 517 MB and I barely have anything currently open.
Opera, only one tab plus two add-ons = 316MB

Also, I never really asked this before and always just did it, but should I be importing my bookmarks, history, etc, when it asks me to after installing a new browser?

That doesn't slow it down or anything right? >.>

It's been so long since I used Opera, it's really nice :x

I'll have to see what I enjoy more, Opera or Pale Moon.

A graphics tablet helps a lot. Make sure you're usign a program that supports pressure sensitivity. Paint Tool SAI and Photoshop do for sure. Open Canvas does too iirc.

Abuse the hell out of layers. Practice. Lots and lots of practice. It's difficult getting used to drawing and not looking at your pen. Unless you're using a massive $2K+ Cintiq with a display screen.

I understand layers a bit, I've been taking apart .gif files and looking at how they work the past few months, editing them, making my own, etc.

I can draw fine on paper, it's not very good but it's 10 times better than what I can do on PC. My main issue is I think I'm too perfectionistic for drawing. A line that strays is never good enough for me. So I have to accept that I'm not going to get it perfect, but even then I'll spend hours and hours on the same drawing getting it where I want it at.

I got my Bamboo Connect at Best Buy for $80 a year ago. Dunno if the price there has dropped. Still $80 from the Wacom website.

Ah, then Paint Tool SAI will probably be a good program to use because of the stabilizer. Which basically smooths out pen strokes by "stabilizing" your hand. Or rather, the input from the pen. Removes most, if not all, shakiness

Something I've always wondered, how do you know where you're drawing with one of those?

Is there a way to move the cursor or w/e w/o drawing?

You can use it as a mouse, actually if you want too. Double tap for left click, and there's a button on the pen to act as right click. Unless you set it to do something else.

Tap and hold to drag, etc.

And the tablet recognizes the pens presence before the pen touches, so you can hover above it a bit (1"~1.5") and see where the cursor is before you do anything.

other than that, it's just getting used to it. Little tricky to do, but I eventually got used to it.

... God dammit Capcom.

Why wasn't Resident Evil 4 released like this?
YouTube Video Placeholder

I get the scrapping it because it's was too paranormal for the franchise. Leave that stuff for Silent Hill and Fatal Frame.

But they could have kept the game play, setting and theme which were vary similar to all of the previous non rail shooter Resident Evil games before it while tweaking combat.

palemoon should be rather good, but it depends how you have it configured.

I wonder how well it would work if one would disable flash and attempt to use the html5 versions of things instead, hoping that a lot of sites are up to speed, which lol why do I joke.

Did you look into that thing I linked you to, describing how to limit a program's resources?

Ah~ max 4096gb memory? WTF?

I built a Xeon platform years ago but it only had two processors but the motherboard could support 4. (this was still around the older days of 500mhz processors.

The crap that is out now is all Chinese to me.
lol 4tb of ram, yummy.

I need to sit down and do a good comparison of price/performance. from looking a bit yesterday though, I probably wouldn't even bother getting a multi cpu board unless I had funds to upgrade in the near future, or had a server farm or something and could upgrade at a later date. for personal use it's kinda unneeded overkill. Well I mean personally I don't have 10k+ to drop on a server.

I wish I did though...

I've been looking at possibly building myself a new desktop and using my current one as a server, but I may just build a server, idk. I guess if I wanted to do it right I could drop 1k or so into it and just buy a blade and load vmware on it...
